Assuming the University of Oklahoma and University of Texas are added to the SEC, the geographical center of the conference would move approximately 85 miles west from Alabama to Mississippi.

Current SEC: B and B Farm Rd, Brilliant, AL 35548, USA

New SEC: Houston, MS 38851, USA

Assuming two divisions of E&W. Feel free to debate this.

SEC East Geographical Center moves approximately 90 miles south from Tennessee to Georgia.
Assumed Realigned Teams:
Florida Georgia Alabama Auburn South Carolina Tennessee Kentucky Vanderbilt

Current SEC East: 422 Bigsby Creek Rd, Cleveland, TN 37312, USA

New SEC East: 319 Old Brown Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30004, USA

SEC West Geographical Center moves approximately 200 miles west from Mississippi to Arkansas.
Assumed Realigned Teams:
LSU, Ole Miss, Miss State, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M.

Current SEC West: Yazoo City, MS 39194, USA

New SEC West: 240 NV-33, Emmet, AR 71835, USA

Here is a good tool to use for other scenarios: LINK
I used the football stadiums as the locations.

These are the types of posts I come to this board for. Information no one even considered that means almost nothing but is strikingly fascinating.

Need to fill in that North Carolina and Virginia Gap.

Any state touching the Royal Colonial Boundary Survey of 1665 needs to be in the SEC. Line of demarcation

I was at the dedication ceremony for this at Cumberland Gap National Historic Park.

Some info on Houston, Ms

quote:

Native American groups had long used the future Chickasaw County for millennia before the coming of European adventurers. Eventually the natives were essentially forced out of the area. An 1832 treaty finally made the area secure for settlement, and emigrants rapidly moved in. The formation of Chickasaw County was authorized on February 9, 1836, and a few days later a committee was authorized to determine the location of the county seat. Judge Joel Pinson offered to donate land for development of this seat, and on July 8, 1836 his offer was accepted. Judge Pinson named the settlement 'Houston' in memory of Sam Houston, a childhood friend.

quote:

1909, Houston became home to the first Carnegie library in the state after. School Superintendent L.B. Reid contacted philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, who had created a matching program for libraries, telling of the need for a public library, and his request was approved. Also in 1909, an African-American man, Robbie Daskin was lynched for allegedly killing a preacher.[7] Houston hosts the Mississippi Flywheel Festival in April and September of every year.[8]

Probably can’t get much more southern than this place

It does look like that in the zoomed-out map. It was more accurate when I zoomed-in.

I used this address:
West Stadium Drive LSU Campus Baton Rouge, LA 70808
