the top half of the SEC traditionally - UF, Tenn, UGA, Bama, AU, (Arky)

I have to say Vandy as well because they play in a tough conference, yet still don't get intimidated by the powerhouses they face week in and week out.

The one saying lsu's success is a 10 year sort of thing

I'd say Arky and UGA. Arky's fans are great, and hilarious when things aren't looking so good for their boys. I've always liked UGA, totally respect Richt. UGA's fans are pretty cool...'specially when they're in black.

I respect all SEC teams, but I'd have to say Bama would be the school I have the most respect for outside of LSU. As a kid I remember the Bear on the sidelines and how tough he seemed. Like him or not, the man commanded your respect.

I'd say LSU for their success this decade, USC for fan loyalty, and Vandy for being a great school and still managing to be somewhat competitive in football.

Vandy, play in the toughest conference in history and come out every week ready to play with their heads up despite the lack of talent due to very strict academic standards. On top of all that they've managed to be competitive.

Vanderbilt. Living here in Nashville the past 3 years, having season tickets and learning a lot about the school and their program gives me major respect for them. A small private school competing in the SEC says mountains about the commitment to their Athletic program and education. To finally win a bowl game was huge validation for Coach Bobby Johnson. I bleed Purple & Gold and I love Vandy. Can't wait to watch the game this year in TS.

You can pick Vandy, but the reason they stay in the SEC when they are barely competitive (yes, I know we lost to them last year) is the money they get in the revenue sharing. They make far more getting their arse kicked in the SEC than they could being competitive in CUSA or even the ACC.

Actually, I'll go Vandy as well.
Small private school with high academic standards going against the beast of college conferences and still quite completitive, all things considered.
Produced several good NFL players the last few years as well. Several starting linebackers and Cutler and Bennett, etc.

Probably would be UF, for almost every SEC team I can find a chink the armor to attack an SEC fan should they start talking smack about SC (or just because I feel like talking smack ) but in all 3 'major' sports, for the time being Ive got nothing on UF because of our games vs them over the past couple of years.

i can give you any of the others, but only the success on the field as a past 10 years sort of thing
you must be about 10 years old. the world didn't start the day you were born, sonny. LSU has had a lot of success in a lot of sports outside of your 10 yr frame.

for an old guy, you must have piss and vinegar in your veins to immediately get pissed like that. the only GOOD "LSU" team i do know IS the past 10 years. sorry if that offends you old timer. i'm 27, and i probably only really started paying attention to football at a normal age... like 11-12 years old... whenever that sort of things starts meaning something to a kid.
i certainly didn't wanna spend time digging up all of the record books over the matter. and btw, remember, i said i respected the real/old school fans. like you.
