SEC football is about to take a backseat to other leagues. It’s just too tough

And when you award half the teams with an extra loss, you have to acknowledge Sankey murdered this league, at a loss to boot. What a colossal, idiotic decision.

An 8-4 SEC team is about to embarrass a team with a bye.

Maybe, but the SEC teams will also be significantly more banged up.

The SEC will probably have half the teams in the final 8 of the 24 team playoff.

I don't, and never have, given a frick about any other league. Not when we're better, not when we may be slipping.
Winning the SEC is all that matters, all that has mattered, all that will matter.
Adding Arkansas, South Carolina, Missouri, Texas aTm, Oklahoma, and Texas has only enhanced this.
Frick everyone else, and their leagues.

That was as tough as the SEC ever was and it produced multiple champs outside of Bama and/or UGA.

The BCS took strength of schedule into consideration. For instance, in 2007, an undefeated Hawaii or a 11-1 Kansas had multiple 2 loss teams ahead of them.

This is like saying its "beta" to not run into a brick wall. At a certain point, it's just a retarded move.

The brick wall is that we 'have to play each other.'
Good, we're the SEC. We should play each other. It's the best sports entertainment on the planet.
Frick the other conferences.
What in all hades is wrong with you ladies?

It appears that you can't see the big picture here.

If the big picture involves the fear that seems to have paralyzed you (and some others), then good.

"You're just afraid to run into a brick wall over and over again until you have a concussion."
How does a 9th SEC game improve SEC team chances of making a playoff? Answer me that.

It's now a 24 team playoff. And you're worried about an SEC team's chances of making it?
You can't be serious. I mean, seriously.

So not only are we adding a 9th SEC game, we're adding more playoff games vs tough teams for our players to beat themselves up.
Meanwhile, teams like Notre Dame play 2 ranked teams all year and cruise in healthy.
Again, how are more games vs tough competition good for a league that already beats itself up? Also, why do you want to see more rematches of SEC regular season games?
Can't you see how this makes it even harder for an SEC team to win a natty? Pull your head out of the sand, man.

What is the point of being in the SEC outside of the check. Any sec team could join the big 12 and get an easy path to the playoff. Or go independent and schedule 10 cupcakes
Posted on 10/18/26 at 10:32 pm to GoldenDawg
It’s not just about wins and losses…it’s attrition. You simply can’t survive losing 4-8 starters and if they are in the wrong spot, you are FUC*ED. It’s just another opportunity to play a non-conf team, rest a few banged up guys, vs, we HAVE to win play everyone that can walk.

Not to mention that the 9 game schedule and 24 team playoff hurts the SEC revenue wise and will likely create more rematches.

get an easy path to the playoff.
If that is what you want, there is no way to be a member of the SEC and have that. There really isn't.
And good.
So we get to watch an unranked Auburn beat a #1 Georgia. I'd rather see that, get the arse end of it as a Georgia fan, and have Auburn fans twist the knife, than be a part of a conference where I get to play Duke and NC State and have "an easy path to the playoff."
Frick that. If you want an easy life, you will never get it in the SEC, no matter how they configure the playoff. That's what you do not seem to understand.
And you also do not seem to understand that it is better this way, than the Big !2 way. You don't believe that? Become an Oklahoma State, Oregon or Houston fan, because you won't make it here.
The SEC is a tough neighborhood.
