figuring out who the best team is in the SEC in this new era will become a joke.

If that is what you want, there is no way to be a member of the SEC and have that. There really isn't.

And good.

So we get to watch an unranked Auburn beat a #1 Georgia. I'd rather see that, get the arse end of it as a Georgia fan, and have Auburn fans twist the knife, than be a part of a conference where I get to play Duke and NC State and have "an easy path to the playoff."

Frick that. If you want an easy life, you will never get it in the SEC, no matter how they configure the playoff. That's what you do not seem to understand.

Sure, but why make it harder than it was before for basically no reward?

You can't seem to answer that question.

I've answered it. You just refuse to acknowledge it. I answered it with my very first post in this thread. And if that is not good enough for you, then so be it.

It is for me. Always has been, always will be.

If anything, I want a 12 game SEC schedule with an 8 team SEC playoff.

Maybe. But that will be no different than it was for 59 years before we had the SECCG. And no playoffs whatsoever. Which seems to be a time many here are pining away for.

You didn't answer why it's worth it to make everything harder than it was.

You said you only care about the SEC and want to win it.

When it was just 10 teams, I was pretty easy to figure it out.

I guess you insisting there's an answer that's nowhere to be found kind of speaks more to why you think an 9 game schedule is better, than the statement itself.

Sucks that the SEC continues to fall further and further behind. Folks like you are to blame though, regardless of whether you realize it or not.

You played all but two teams.

Now, there will be six teams you don't play. And no championship game after this season. Declaring the champion will be a joke.

Always has been without a playoff. Always. And even with a playoff, no one is satisfied. Remember the SEC East v. SEC West? Some years Florida and Tennessee complained that they were the two best teams, but played in the tougher east which made it 'harder.' Same complaints would come, even more often, from Alabama and LSU in the West.

No one was ever satisfied. No one will ever be satisfied. It will never be 'fair.' Never.

So just enjoy the best games in the country that we get to watch every week in SEC.

Or complain about how difficult it is. And the only way to solve that - really - is to join the ACC or something.

Ultimately? It's just pointless whining. Instead, we should be grateful we are fans of the SEC and enjoy what we have. Not try to dilute it because other conferences have it 'easier.' I just can't understand that.

But I'm okay to agree to disagree.

No one is arguing that we should dilute the product. We're saying there was no reason to make the conference path even tougher than it already was.

I think many SEC fans will quickly tire of watching each other destroy the rest of the conference, and then a B1G or ACC team cruise to a natty every year.

We already play each other 67% of the season, at GREAT expense. What does the greatest conference with the best athletes have to prove by playing itself again?

These people are insufferably dense.

Not only that, it clouds the newly promoted playoff picture. Instead of choosing between which of the 3-5 two loss teams you are to pick, you are forced to exclude 3 of the 8 teams with similar records and SOS by season end at the rate we are going. It’s just a money and popularity contest at that point. It’s not about results. We are actually worse off by considering less qualified teams to accommodate the potentially qualified team that might be excluded.
