This is the deal with Hugh Freeze IMO:

9-4: Safe

8-5: Safe, but seat is still hot

7-6: Safe as long as the 6th loss comes in the bowl game but man that seat will be on fire next offseason.

6-6: If AU goes 6-6 in the regular season, he’s very likely gone. Only reason I could maybe see him keep his job is if we’re in a recession and all the big money donors aren’t in a mood for another buyout and another new head coach. But 95% chance he’s fired.

5-7 or worse: Gone for sure.

Stoops is fine.

Tittman's seat is on fire.

Auburn takes football more seriously than Arkansas and this is why Pittman is safe.

The boosters stepped up big for Auburn in the portal. I'd think 8-4 would be the minimum.

In keeping with the 'ask Grok' theme the board has today, here is what AI thinks:

1. Venables
2. Freeze
3. Stoops
4. Lebby
5. Pittman
6. Napier
7. DeBoer
8. Kelly
9. Lea
10. Beamer
11. Drinkwitz
12. Elko
13. Kiffin
14. Heupel
15. Sarkisian
16. Smart

Swap Deboer and Kelly and Lebby and Napier and I think it's accurate.

Nah one 5-6 season and he’s gone before the iron bowl.

To be fair, some grumbling to fire him occurred when Bryant went 6-5 for two seasons before installing the wishbone and going on a tear in the 70s.

4) Sam Pittman

I think we'll be better this season but our schedule isn't doing us any favors.

A hyped A State in Little Rock game
Go to Memphis
Notre Dame at home.

Then the usual SEC suspects. I don't see him surviving that if we don't start hot.

Venables isn't on the hot seat regardless of lists... The administration likes him a lot and thinks he is on the right path. I dont think there is any way he gets fired this year unless he goes like 5-8

That's exactly what being on the hot seat means

Hugh Freeze definitely needs a winning season, but his seat is not that much hotter than the one in Tuscaloosa.

DeBoer misses the playoffs again and he may be in trouble. That spoiled arse fanbase is already ready to combust.

Napier is one. If He isn’t in the playoff hunt with a QB like Lagway he has to go. He will never win if he can’t this year.

Except for a few loose screws, the Alabama fanbase isn’t ready to combust. They realize a lot has changed. Not just the coach, but the whole sport. The only people on here who are screaming the sky is falling are alter accounts of LSU, Auburn and Tennessee fans who pretend to be Alabama fans.

If your coach is a 5-7 season away from being fired, they're on the hot seat.

For instance, Kirby Smart can go 5-7 next year and UGA will not fire him because he isn't on the hot seat.

Venables, per your own words, will get fired if he goes 5-7. That's because he is on the hot seat. Your prediction of your record has no bearing on this.
