Beautiful state. Dumpster fire college teams especially football. Ya'll still chapped that Pat Dye got outta Dodge first opportunity to return to SEC country.

I can't believe I'm seeing an Auburn fan talk trash to an LSU fan with a Wyoming logo beside his name about Pat Dye leaving Laramie for the Plains in 1981.

Maybe the SEC as a whole has never been that great.

Look at bowl games.

And you can say what you want about bowl games.

Barn would be undefeated if they played Florida State, Utah, Texas, or Miami?

It's way too early to call the SEC in decline. I still fully expect the SEC to win the championship again this year. NIL is definitely changing the landscape...but most of the best players will always want to play in the best league.

NIL is not the reason the SEC is down. This is just another 2013-2014 type lull.

Meh, there's ebbs and flows to it.

SEC had a losing P5 OOC record in both 2016 (11-14) and 2017 (10-12), I wouldn't sweat it too much.

We do just fine in bowl games especially when most matchups are SEC #5 vs. ACC #3 type. The CFP bowl games are going well too.

Maybe we really were all cheating all along, and NIL evened everything out.

If we were cheating, I don't think we are very good at it.

Yes, to the contrary...

I've always been amazed that Wyoming has been steadfast in remaining at the D-1 level and not decided to drop down to play with schools/states that are more similar to them like the ones in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Idaho sans Boise.

In all of D1, Laramie is one of the hardest sells. Come freeze your arse off in a non descript, windswept snow blown town that is so high that just breathing is a chore. And to top it off, have all the excitement of a town that is 30K, all white and full of people who do nothing but hunt, fish and rodeo. And chicks who dig boots and buckles.

And then Georgia will just win a third in a row and you’ll all cry again about how tired you are of the SEC always winning.

Isn't it fairly close to Denver?

There are a lot of young quarterbacks. However, for LSU to get blown out the way they did was quite embarrassing.

NIL and the transfer portal are creating parody in college football. A kid can now go to Alabama, get developed and if he's not able to break through to started or quality playing time he can go to another quality program with needs at his position and make an impact.

This is the new norm

Other than Saban losing a game at home, what’s changed?

LSU lost to FSU last year.
UF/ATM haven’t been worth a shite in a minute.
OM/AU look a bit better than last year.
MSU/SC/KY/ARK/Mizzou/Vandy all look about the same.

UGA/UT have not played anyone who can challenge them.

CFB always goes in cycles. "down" year for the SEC, maybe. Lots of youth in the league from what I can tell.
OU and Texas, especialy Texas , are righting the ship. SEC will be top dog for decades to come.
AS for the money...outside of USC maybe Oregon, no one has more money than UT, A$M, OU etc.... Oil Pump Jacks go brrrrrrrrrr.....

It ain’t only the oil $. Tech (Apple, FB, Google, Vrbo), auto (Tesla, F1, Lambo), manufacturing (Samsung), film, restaurant (Torchy’s, Chuey’s), beverages (Tito’s, Deep Eddy, Shiner) & business (Yeti, Tecovas) are all pouring hundreds of billions (with a B) into Austin metro.

No doubt, but just as in Oklahoma. When Oil is up, we have better players.

Shouldn't the 5th ranked SEC team be able to handily beat the #3 team from the inept ACC?

I for one am happy about not giving in to all the bullshite. So many bullshite rankings given out each week. But that's just college football.

That great sport where 90% of games are boring blowouts. Luckily we have 2 or 3 games each week worth watching.
