Yes Missouri can't be removed for money purposes. Kansas can't be added because they don't bring any markets. That's what I meant. The North Carolina schools add TV markets.

The goal would be new markets, so North Carolina or NC State, and then VA or VA Tech (VA Tech having a huge lead over VA). Of course, if we want to shore up our basketball strength, VA and NC.

Kansas and OK are tiny markets. Not worth considering.

Texas would try to claim rulership, like they did over the Big 12. That wouldn't fly for a nanosecond in the SEC.

your fans suck, and care more about the NFL and crappy BBQ than football/basketball/baseball. You guys tried to rent dorm rooms to fans because they are empty and depreciating you guys are losing money. No one wants to go to your to UM.

Yuge growth opportunities for UCF. currently you guys don't GAF about sports much, but I think given the opportunity and the size you can be relevant, grow the interest and fanbase, and makes some dollars.

I could see Houston being added along with an east team, then switch Missouri and Auburn's divisions.

Texas A&M IS the University of Houston. No markets would be added.

2. Florida State

I'll give you the other ones, but why is this a terrible choice? They seem like a natural SEC team and come with a rival in Florida. They're also good at baseball.

6. West Virginia

Coming from the Big 12, they're more "gettable". I feel like they would be fun to watch playing Kentucky and Tennessee. They would also contribute in basketball as well as football.

10. Louisville

Obviously, by this point in the list, the good candidates are gone. Louisville just has a rival in Kentucky and is still within the traditional footprint. They also bring a good basketball program.

quote:

11. Tulane

Charter member of the SEC with old rivalries that might be fun to rekindle.

quote:

13. Miami

Big name with an SEC coach and another rival of Florida. They're a shadow of what they were in the 80's-early 2000's, but maybe Mark Richt can make them a competitor in the SEC East.

quote:

15. Duke

Great basketball, decent football, great academics, long tradition, expands into a new state that's still within the geographic region.

quote:

20. ULL

This was a joke...obviously.

Hardly anyone cares about Coog High in Houston. Most are Aggies, LSU, and then probably some Longhorns.

A&M and LSU would both petition against the university of Houston because it would just be injecting a large amount of money into a program that would recruit against them in their best recruiting grounds.

Elite sport schools like Kansas have markets outside of their primary state. Kansas has elite basketball and would bolster the SEC here. They are also an AAU school which would boost academics. Would bring back a historic rival for Missouri.

I would add them with Iowa State because they know how to party in Ames

As an added bonus it would piss off Iowa and the B1G

We should get a cfb team from Santa Clara since it's such a hot bed of cfb.

If you are going out side the central time zone go with Liverpool. Class of the Premier League. Would be favored in the east next year.

They're just really bad cultural fits. I mean, perhaps you take an FSU or Duke if available because they're in the top class of respective categories, but I wouldn't. I don't want an SEC-backed FSU recruiting against the rest of us in Florida and I really don't want their people in the conference. Duke wouldn't come and would be an extremely awkward fit in every way, but maybe I'd do it for a Duke/UNC partnership.

Looking to Texas and Oklahoma just makes more sense IMO. Although I'd prefer we forgo expansion if possible.
