I don't like this faggy language in general but especially when talking about football. It's a violent sport. The players' safety is never the no 1 concern or they wouldn't be playing football.

Something I think LSU mention to UF Monday or Tuesday

I like how they say this, but then want LSU to play 3 away games in 13 days which would be an abomination of the player safety narrative.

They didn't in Baton Rouge in 2005.
Why now?

This game could have been played.

Old news here. Does not address the fact that the game could have been played in an empty AU stadium, any nite, or in Mobile, or, God forbid, Tiger Stadium. And there would be no huge homefield advantage for LSU, as 1) the students are off campus for the wk, and 2) the last time this happened, on a beautiful Sat. afternoon, 40,000 LSU fans showed up to see the OBC walk the sidelines. LSU offered Fla. 7 different options. Fla refused them all.

No shite Sherlock!!
We were telling you dumb fricks this all week and tried to make you understand these exact points so it would sink in your thick head that playing in BR was probably your best option.
Just admit your administration thought it was in the programs best interest to not play this game and they drug their feet and declined other offers for the game to be played for the goal of canceling the game

Just like all the other games happening later this weekend that were affected by the storm?
Dude, you have nothing.
NOTHING.
It's gotten to where I don't even care anymore, play the schedule out and enjoy the games and frick Florida.

Yep, and I hope everyone playing football this weekend gets a concussion.
You'd be pissed too if your feet were wet, it was hot all the time, and you couldn't understand what anyone was saying on the TV until Duck Dynasty came on.

They could've played at a different site inland.
Not hard to figure out, folks.

Amazing... Maybe they should close school on Monday. Per announcement - UF open for normal business on Monday.
Bottom line is Sankey had the power to settle this and passed. Slive intervened in 2005 and told LSU/Tenn what they were going to do.

For one, Logan explained, it takes hundreds of on-site staff — ticket takers, bag checkers, ushers, parking attendants, concessions workers, etc. — to create a safe, functioning environment. A storm as large as Hurricane Matthew not only interrupts potential travel, but creates a domino effect that’s impossible to plan for.
The only point of this is FLA is scared to play LSU...plain and simple...
There is no other explaination.

“You would not feel comfortable just putting somebody in a position — if that person was not trained, not qualified to do that job — just to be able to have a game,” Logan said. “So you would not substitute a law-enforcement person who’s scheduled to work team security with someone else because they’re not trained to recognize threats or concerns or handle problems.” Beyond terror threats or other big-picture problems, the university needs qualified officers to handle micro-security issues — ex. a fan fistfight — quickly and effectively. As the weekend goes on, the consequences of the storm will become clearer. If Hurricane Matthew does not do serious damage to the state of Florida, hindsight will prove itself to be 20/20 once again (“The Gators should’ve played!”). But Logan stressed that a decision to reschedule must take place far in advance. “The No. 1 obligation is the teams’ safety, the players’ safety, the coaches being able to travel and have facilities to stay in,” he said. “You’ve gotta look at it far enough out: Can hotels accommodate fans coming in, as well as residents being relocated? You have people that are dislocated by a storm that may be moving into hotels, may be consuming things that teams would use, and people’s safety — their well-being, being dislocated by a storm — would take priority over these teams coming in and using rooms to play a game.”
That's why LSU offered to fly in and out on the same day (no hotels taken up) and even play in an empty stadium (a lot less security, no stadium personnel needed, no fans to worry about)
Florida didn't even entertain the idea and offered no other backup plan.
