It wasn't just Rutgers either. The Bugeaters (NU )had to spend five years as a jr. Big 10 member. I think this may be the first year they've actually received a full share of revenue.

This was the same deal floated out to Mizzou. Mizzou wanted to think about this for a bit, and the Big 10 moved to NU as their main target. Nothing was ever official, but I've heard it from enough people to believe that this happened. Had Mizzou said yes to that deal, they would have ended up in the Big 10. Thank God that didn't happen.

Rutgers and Maryland will get a full share in the future. It's like buying into a partnership.

Nebraska was brought in under similar auspices and is nearly up to full payout.

Purdue and northwestern get the same amount as osu and Michigan.

Rutgers should simply be grateful that Delaney and the conference stupidly invited them to begin with

THIS!

This is why I tell the old crochety Mizzou fans that it was a great idea leaving the Big 12 for the SEC.

The SEC is the greatest conference in the land, and the greatest thing to ever happen to ol' Mizzou.

I might hate most of the backwards chaw lipped fricks around here, but I know that it's the exception, not the rule.

IRL the SEC fans have always been gracious, and I'm proud that my states flagship is a member.

The SEC works because we are Southerners ... plain and simple. Southerners play nice with one another better than any other region in the country. We bust balls on this board ... but the rest of the country is jealous of our SEC SEC SEC chants.

Would any of the aTm or Mizzou fans care to express how THEY felt about Texas in the Big 12?

Over inflated sense of self.

They think they're Bama and football but they're not.
They think they're UK in basketball but they're not.

The list goes on.

Given their resources, they may well be the most underachieving athletic department in the nation.

It is the best most competitive group of assholes I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I don't give a shite if they added checkers, Bama or some other school will cheat win they want titles so bad.

It's like family , you hate them and love them at the same damn time

Damn skippy, we might argue at Thanksgiving Dinner, but by the end of the night we're all huddled up in the garage drinking beer and telling stories.

Imo, there should be unequal revenue sharing to an extent. There's no way in hell the smaller schools in terms of revenue like ole miss, miss st, vandy, and mizzou, should receive the same amount of money from the sec that the big 6 do. That's just retarded. The only schools that agree with that are the ones who are getting more from this conference than their true value dictates...the smaller athetics depts. What we are doing now wouldn't fly with donald j trump as our commish.

Interesting, if you consider the cost of the buying equality.

The 3 teams that joined the B1G in last realignment
50 million buy in for Nebraska
50 million buy in for Maryland
50 million buy in for Rutgers
+ ?? million buy in for Penn Sate back in the 1990's

The cost to join the SEC in 2010 was the same as the cost to join in 1932
(I think the membership fee is between 50 and 250 dollars)

B1G noobs don't get full share till their buy in is complete in 5 to 10 years.
SEC noobs get a full share they day they joined.

B1G is just harvesting the noobs for the $$ knowing they will not get to compete on a fair playing level with Ohio State an the has been know as Michigan. It really is a single dog (Michigan) and single pony (Ohio State) show.

SEC respected the noobs and treated them as equal at the start which leads us to the biggest elephant in the room. SEC still has no exit fee while the BIG exit fee is rumored to be around 300 million. How good of a partnership do you really have if you have to greaten the folks who would leave with such a high exit fee.

Don't forget we recently upgraded our football stadium also and the "Hump" (basketball arena) is going to get an upgrade. Revenue sharing is great but we have lacked a good AD for a long time that would hire coaches and raise money.
The Bulldog club membership has really gone way up. All MSU ever needed was someone who cared to get things rolling. The bar has been raised in everything, even womens basketball. It starts at the top at any school.

VANDY just won a national championship in baseball. The revenue has allowed them to compete at a much higher level. MISS ST played for a title but lost.

Really only Ole Miss isn't doing shite but cheating making us look bad
