You're basically saying my idea of 4x4 pods with 1 perm. in each pod. You'ld pair up 2 pods each year with the winner of each "group" of 8 being an SECCG team.
So, Y1 = AB winner vrs. CD winner, Y2 = AC winner vrs. BD winner, & Y3 = AD winner vrs. BC winner.
So, Y1 = AB winner vrs. CD winner, Y2 = AC winner vrs. BD winner, & Y3 = AD winner vrs. BC winner.

& if you reshuffle, the MUST BE PLAYED games have to stay in the new rotation.
& why would you reshuffle every 3 years...when that leads to hosting some teams 2X or visiting some teams 2X?

No divisions but 2 permanent rivals.
Okay,...WHO is everybody's 2 perm.?
Ala. - Aub. & Tenn. (lost MSU)
UGA - Aub. & Fl.
Tenn. - Ala. & Vandy
Aub. - Ala. & UGA
Tex. - Ok. & TA&M

Then HOW would you decide SEC divisions?
Some talks were to move Ala. & Aub. east, Mizz. west, & put Tx. & Ok. in the west.
That STILL give UGA an advantage?

I hate it that 3 or 4 weeks of the season is wasted on playing directional schools to "tune up"....free those games up for more games that matter.
Heard rumors on this but my prediction is that there's ultimately a split between tier 1 big boy conferences and tier 2-3, who then go on to have their own playoff. Which to me would be ideal for all parties including us football fans who enjoy watching meaningful games. Marshall vs. Appalachian State in the playoffs is much more interesting to me than Marshall vs. App St in the Tire Bowl.

& what do you think those teams do with the $ to play SEC teams?

I'm thinking the sec and b10 have an opportunity to make more money by not paying a few million for a layup game.

Two divisions.
WEST
Texas
Texas A&M
Oklahoma
Missouri
Arkansas
LSU
Ole Miss
Mississippi St
EAST
Alabama
Auburn
Georgia
Florida
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
Kentucky
Too easy for the common man to like. We like stuff to be effed. Look at the new NFL kickoff for reference.

Sorry but no, the Conf Championship should mean something. Now it clearly doesnt.

That's how I would structure it.

Tired of divisions or tired of getting your collective arse kicked.

That does put you on equal footing with Tennessee and Florida though…………….

I think Missouri currently stands united on the side of no-divisions and feels it is looking pretty good.

I understand bragging about beating Ohio State and Michigan because they are above you all-time, the top 2 programs behind only Alabama, but gloating over defeating the lowly ACC and Big 12 is a riot.
I see comprehension is not your strong suit.
Since 2016 UGA has lost to NO teams not currently in the SEC.
At all.
And it's not like we haven't played anyone. Last year we played the top ranked ACC team. Year before that was the top ranked Big 12, #2 Big 10 and ACC teams. year before that was the top ranked Big 10 team and #2 Pac 12 team. Year before that was the #1 G5 teams (#4 overall non-SEC team).
Other conferences are not a challenge. Only SEC teams can threaten a team like UGA right now. Every other conference is weak.

We’ve won the division 3 times, but 32 years of the same schedule gets tiresome, win or lose. We’ve developed no big rivalries so there’s nothing to lose there. Since we’re adding teams and changing things give everyone a chance to play every other team in the conference instead of the same old rut.

Saw another thread talking about the East-West days. Of course money will decide which way it ends up but do y'all prefer open schedule like now or 4-team divisions?
I have posted numerous times about not liking the absence of divisions. It means you cant play your way into the championship and instead will be the popularity contest. 2 yrs ago no way LSU makes the SECG in this new world order.

Also curious who is LSU's main rival? Is it Bama?
For the long term it has been Ole Miss. More recently (since 2000 anyway), Bama.
UF as a perma-ponent usually generated some juice.

Yes. Go back to East and West, move Mizzou to West and Bama and Auburn to the East.

Georgia would secede from the SEC if they stuck them in the same division as Alabama.

I suppose I don't care either way. As long as we play Tennessee every year, that's all that matters to me.
