Scoring defense national rankings (everyone’s played 7 games except Texas, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn, and South Carolina)

Updated after week 7:

#11 Tennessee - 14.71ppg
#17 Georgia - 15.86
#17 LSU - 15.86
#27 Texas A&M - 17.14
#29 Texas (6 games) - 17.83
#30 Oklahoma (6 games) - 18.17
#31 Missouri - 18.71
#48 alabama - 21.43
#54 Auburn (6 games) - 21.83
#72 Ole Miss (6 games) - 23.83
#84 South Carolina (6 games) - 25.50
#93 Kentucky - 25.86
#96 Arkansas - 26.71
#109 Florida - 28.29
#111 Mississippi State (6 games) - 28.50
#115 Vanderbilt - 29.71

A lot of ball left but Tennessee, Georgia, and LSU appear to be the cream of the crop defensively so far.

Auburn's O is scoring way over our opponents average ppg allowed. LSU will be fun.

These numbers include the cupcake teams that everyone plays. I'd be interested to see what only SEC competition looks like.

We have a good dline and linebackers, secondary is the weak point but it’s been masked by consistent pressure, still think we are an 8-4 to 9-3 type team

Tennessee’s defense will get them a CFP berth. They could easily be undefeated and top five.

LSU is getting more and more banged up, starting to slide a bit.

Give me some about X Atkins. I've got a suspicion his suspension is going to be magically lifted.

Deas and Reddick are both 4/5 star recruits. Menedez is the best LB in the country. It isn't a position of concern, tbh.

Was confident Knowles would get the Vols up to a top 35 defense this year, way ahead of schedule, so far at least.
