What is also baffling is why people can't acknowledge LSU tried everything it could to get the game played. And now when the exact situation presents itself that we tried to warn eveyone about as early as Tuesday comes to pass we are the bad guys. Completely baffling to me. Florida and Sankey created this situation despite warnings and other suggestions well in advance, it's their mess to clean up not LSU's.
I'll ask again, what has U of F done or officially proposed since this time last week other than say this game will be played an noon on Saturday in Gainesville?

I will when you give us more links that there's an agreement that insurance is paying LSU $3.2mm to play a rescheduled game, lol.

That article is riddled with incorrect "facts"

You schedule it for sunday or Monday, you could have still cancelled it if you needed to.
And South Carolina, so they make plans on Sunday. well every one knew the storm was coming well before Thursday so this point is plain stupid. Plans could have been made Monday. shite all they had to do was say on Monday they are pushing the game to Monday, if they still can't play, it will be moved to a later date.

The precedent that the game is going to be played some other time than that weekend? I agree. Happens all the time. Why LSU fans are whining about precedent being followed is baffling.
Not quite. The precedent that when a natural disaster risks your home game, you move to the away teams stadium to get the game played.
The precedent that LSU has been a party in in more than one occasion.

10. Fiction: Giving up a home game to play Florida will cost LSU millions
Fact: The SEC has a new lost-revenue insurance policy that went into effect this year. LSU reportedly makes $3 million per home game, and insurance would cover that. It already has to account for one Florida home game.
That policy — or the league itself — also may be able to pay the Nov. 19 contract buyouts for the Presbyterian (Florida) and South Alabama (LSU) games, which would be less than $2 million in total.
And you think that is the full economic impact? It has been estimated that LSU home football games generate tens of millions of dollars for the Baton Rouge community. THAT is a fact.
I was not in the room or on the conference calls, so I can't say with 100% certainty exactly who said what, but I do know that it was a FACT that Foley refused to even consider alternative options for the game as late as Wednesday because we heard it straight from his lips. And by then , those options were limited.
The very idea of LSU being forced to give up a home game and play three conference road games in 12 days to make up for Foley's inability to plan and Sankey's inability to lead is asinine. LSU has had to play a road game in Tempe, AZ, play a non-conference game on their bye week and play a scheduled SEC game on Monday due to hurricanes here, now we're being asked to bend over backwards for a hurricane that hit another state?
Here is another FACT: The Nov 19th option still costs both teams a game. We only get 6 home games a year and, as a season ticket holder, I want to see LSU play them all!
There is only one option that makes sense: MAKE Florida and Georgia move the cocktail party and play the LSU - Florida game on the 29th. All games are played, everything is settled on the field.

Fact: U of FLAtulence acted in a craven and duplicitous manner in order to avoid this game.
Fiction: U of FLAtulence did not act in a craven and duplicitous manner in order to avoid this game.

No they haven't otherwise they'd move their Sunbelt game. Theyre mad at UF for not playing in BR and doing what LSU wanted to do which is give them an extra home game. UF isn't dumb enough to blast their proposals over the airwaves while playing the victim card.

This is a Florida - LSU problem not a Georgia problem.

but they are dumbe enough to say playing in Florida on Sat, Sun, or Mon would have been impossible.
all while watching Florida St play Miami in a city that was actually fricking hit by the storm. They also had a contingency plan lined up to play in Tampa if they couldn't do it in Miami.
there were options to play this thing this weekend in a lot of places not named Baton Rouge. One of those cities is called Gainesville, FL. maybe you've heard of it.
Florida showed no interest in seeking an alternative.
every other game scheduled to be played in Florida had a resolution agreed upon by Wednesday.
except one.
and according to SEC bylaws, it's the home team's decision.
those are FACTS.
who said what and when they said it? don't know, don't care.
but the SEC rules state it was Florida's call.
they chose "not playing". FACT.
want proof? the game still hasn't been fricking played.

also not a USA or Presby problem.
but somebody somewhere is getting fricked in this deal.
it's up to LSUs ad to ensure LSU ain't the one getting fricked.
it's up to Florida to convince someone to take a fricking. and right now it appears no one is interested in taking a fricking for their incompetence.

USA and Presbyterian ain't members of the SEC. We can cut them a check and send them on their way.
That leaves you two guys with a game to get play before Thanksgiving.

Who cares? Just because you tried we are supposed to give you a trophy or something? Stop. Whining.

There is more than one precedent, they just chose the one you liked the least. It's no more complicated than that. Y'all are babies.

there is no precedent for canceling a conference game due to weather. i don't think that's ever happened before actually. the two precedents we do have, though, is moving the game to the visiting team's stadium OR playing the game one or two days later in the home team's stadium. Foley and Sankey chose option C: postpone the game without a plan and then put yourself in a situation where you are screwing over several teams in the process

“To try to put a road trip together of 150-plus people in a day and half,” Foley said, “not knowing the condition of the roads, not knowing the conditions of the airports, trying to get equipment out there, that’s not in the best interest of safety, not in the best interest of people that would be involved in that trip.
“You aren’t going to put your team on the road and still have the same issue about traveling equipment trucks through this kind of weather. Traveling a team without any security because security forces are being deployed where they should be deployed. Would there be gas for the buses? Could you get buses? There’s so many unknowns.”
What on earth are they talking about? The weather west of the coast was downright beautiful.
Gainesville was perfect for football.
This is preposterous.
