This is a pretty stupid take. Any loss gives a team less of a margin for error.

Like how you totally downplayed the same regular season win last year and in absolutely no way whatsoever made a big deal out of it?

The SEC Championship doesn’t mean as much anymore

Except the years that Bama wins it, like how we heard ad nauseum in 2023.

That’s an odd one to bring up considering it was the last SEC Championship before the 12 team playoff and Bama had to win it to get in a 4 team playoff. With no divisions I don’t really see a scenario anymore where the two participants in the SEC Championship aren’t already playoff locks

I actually hope it's high scoring and high flying. Will be an entertaining game to see in person. That being said, I don't have a bad thing to say about Rebs fans. They certainly have not been one of the more hostile fan bases we've dealt with since joining the SEC over a decade ago.

The SECCG is useless and should be done away with but the SEC greed keeps it in place. The SEC should be all about helping its teams get to and win the playoffs. Instead they want to line their pockets while its teams risk injury in a mostly meaningless game.

They aren’t too bad overall. You have your annoying ones like any fanbase but overall, I guess they’re pretty good. However I’m a little different as an OM fan. I show up, find me a little hole to hunker down in and just relax till the game. The Grove is absolutely too crowded for me and I don’t tailgate so it’s kind of dull for me. Avoid the bricked walk through the grove. That’s where all the frat guys are who will talk all the stuff. It ain’t worth all that. The middle aged and older people are usually really nice, though. Be prepared for gridlock in the town. It has about 25,000 people and the infrastructure is overwhelmed on game weekends. It can get a little claustrophobic feeling, especially since we only seat 65,000 and people expect that size crowd. There will be 2 1/2 that amount of people actually around campus. If you don’t mind me asking, what town are you staying the night in? It can be hard to find lodging in Oxford sometimes

Tupelo is the best place closest to Oxford. Batesville is pretty good. Southaven away from State Line Road is usually okay as well as Hernando

Alabama wins out.
Ole Miss wins out.
Georgia only loses to Ole Miss.

Under this scenario, Ole Miss and Georgia would play in the SECCG. Alabama, with only 1 loss, would still get a first round bye in the CFP. Alabama gets about 6 weeks to rest and heal while Ole Miss and Georgia beat each other up.

Win/win for Alabama.

But congratulations to Georgia for winning a meaningless regular season game

Pretty bold to assume UGA might only lose one game.

I’m glad to see some SEC fans wake up to the simple fact that these games in Sept and Oct mean little

How lucky for LSU.

Yeah, I mean it felt awesome to beat Georgia in Athens last year, and to beat them in Tuscaloosa the year before, yet both seasons ended up sucking in the end.

These regular season wins only matter if you finish the season with hardware.

Well we won't lose to Auburn this week. That's for damn sure.

Well Bama has made Atlanta. We haven’t. We lost one game last year and didnt make it. We won’t ever make it. Cursed. I can go down the list of how close we have come. But it’s just torture. That will not happen. You’ll have to go amd we get the week off as usual. Sorry.

I would certainly hope not.
