SEC Basketball Scheduling after Expansion

Has anyone heard the plan for SEC basketball scheduling after Oklahoma and Texas join the league?
My guess is we'll go to a 15-1-2 game format
**All teams play all 15 other teams at least once
**All teams play 1 extra game against a rival, annually
**All teams play an extra game against 2 rotating teams
If this were the case, its pretty easy to pick the majority of rivalry games that SEC would make sure get played twice each season.... mostly protecting in-state rivalries I imagine:
Alabama-Auburn
Ole Miss-Miss St.
Texas-Texas A&M
Tennessee-Vanderbilt
Georgia-Florida
After those, it gets a bit more difficult pairing up the remaining six teams.
Geographically, it makes the most sense to finish it out like this:
Oklahoma-Missouri
LSU-Arkansas
Kentucky-S. Carolina
Thoughts?

Probably stick with a pod schedule:
Play everyone in your pod home and away=6 games
Play everyone else 1x and rotate home/away annually=12 games

ETA: They probably stick with the same pods as football to avoid confusion, but they wouldn’t have to.

I wonder if the SEC could go to a 20 game conference schedule like the Big Ten and PAC-12.
Play three teams twice every season, two teams from the remaining twelve twice a year on a rotating basis, and then the other ten once. Like a 10-3-2 system.

Switch it to UK/Tennessee or even UK/UF and these would make some sense if they did it that way. You can do geographical rivals in football but the SEC needs to present it's best teams in basketball as much as they can

That's the one thing that stinks about expansion is the imbalance of schedules across the league. Wish there was a way to have everyone play a home/away against every team

I agree those are better matchups. But I imagine the state of Tennessee and the Vandy administration would push hard for that annual home game with Tennessee.

Pre-1992 expansion was such an ideal system. 10 teams, 18 conference games, play each team in the SEC home and away every season.

I really don’t care what they do as long as this element is there. Everyone should play everyone once since conference standings in basketball are uniform and not based on divisions.

UK will be dictating which permanent rivalry games it keeps. That would mean Tennessee, Vanderbilt, perhaps Arkansas. South Carolina definitely not. Florida isn't a rivalry. Tennessee is who want, and Tennessee is who we'll get.

I heard that one of the things we received when we agreed to let the SEC remove Auburn from our yearly football schedule was that we got to play Kentucky hoops twice every year including the last game of the season. Be interesting to see what happens.

20 conference games is what Barnes indicated they’ve been told to expect when he was asked about Texas and OU joining.
I would guess they will stick with 3 permanent home and homes, have 2 rotating home and homes (likely determined by TV partners) and then you play the other 10 teams once.

Winners of the pods with a playoff for the title A vs D and B vs C in the semis; winners in Atlanta.

My guess is BB will go to Divisions (play each in your division twice) and not play everyone every year. The SECT will be a 16 team no bye tournament.

Not sure why Florida got this designation. Kentucky fans give a shite about seeing Tennessee twice every year . That's it. After that, we don't like Vanderbilt and have a long tradition with them, and whichever schoolhappens to be experiencing competent basketball for the first time in twenty years. Right now that's Auburn.
