SEC Regular Season Records since A&M and Mizzou joined the league:
1. Kentucky (110-33), .769
2. Florida (93-49), .655
3. Tennessee (80-63), .559
4. Arkansas (78-64), .549
5. LSU (77-65), .542
6. Ole Miss (72-70), .507
7. Texas A&M (70-72), .493
8. Alabama (69-74), .483
9. S. Carolina (66-77), .462
10. Georgia (65-77), .458
11. Auburn (60-82), .423
12. Miss St. (55-88), .385
13. Vanderbilt (53-90), .371
14. Missouri (49-93), .345
A few thoughts:
**Kentucky's dominance of the league is just insane... and you can pretty much pick any 8-year period in the history of the conference and get a similar result.
**Mizzou was supposed to elevate the SEC's credibility in basketball. They've been in the SEC 8 seasons and are 3.5 games back form 13th place. Absolute disaster.
**Alabama is the most consistent program in the league. They've finished between 8-10 and 10-8 every year for the past 6 consecutive seasons and counting.
**In the first 5 seasons after Expansion, Auburn was 25-65 and dead-last in the league during the period. In the most recent three seasons, they are 35-17 and if they were to win out in the regular season, they'd be 2nd in the league behind only Kentucky during these most recent three seasons. Unreal turnaround.
**Vanderbilt on the flip-side was a respectable 51-57 in league play in the first six seasons following Expansion. Since then they are 2-33.
**As bad as it seems Georgia basketball has always been, somehow we're just .5 games back from 9th place in the league since Expansion. It seems like the record should be way worse.

Mississippi State's record seems kind of shocking.

I was just about to say this. I wonder what the chances are we overtake or tie Tennessee this season.
Eta: I just saw it was records for regular season only.

Mark Fox wasn't horrible, he just wasn't good.

Don’t forget, LSU had Trent Johnson and Johnny fricking Jones as our HC for a while.

Lol and that’s with 3 years of HANDS and the Tyndall experiment.
Not to mention we have a winning record over #1 and 2 during this time frame

Correct, which is why it's mind boggling he was kept as long as he was. Shoulda been fired long before.

State and Auburn have followed a very similar trajectory... only Auburn has had more success.
In the first five seasons following Expansion, State was 26-64 to Auburn's 25-65. Miss State was just one game up on Auburn during that time period.
In the past 3 seasons, Auburn has gone 35-17 in SEC play to Miss State's 29-24.
Both have seen quite a program turnaround during the most recent three seasons.

I mean I was constantly frustrated with Fox, but he won around 50% of his SEC games. In the last two seasons, we're a combined 7-27 in SEC play.... and that includes a season with a potential #1 NBA Draft pick on the court.
I really don't think we're better off.

Yep we've been awful, no excuse. Pathetic, and unacceptable. Alsooooo only UK and Florida have been to the tournament more than us since 2010, sooooooooo.

Nate Oats continuing a proud tradition, the man understands what Alabama basketball is all about.
