Actually, it is going to be a very competitive year in the SEC this year. But most of these openers were pretty weak.

Long ways to go.

The SEC going from Kentucky/Florida and a pile of feces to an actual good basketball conference has been something to behold

If A&M is still undefeated a week from today, I'll be celebrating.

Almost everyone has really committed to get better coaches and facilities, and that's paying off for this conference. We've got football and baseball locked down, be nice if we became the top bouncy ball conference too.

I heard LSU struggled with bowling green. Is this true? I noticed they didn't cover the spread. Bowling is a pretty shite team too. I don't think they have made the tourney since the 1960's

Eh...injuries are a bitch. Especially when they are all at the same position...the position that just happens to guard Penns best player....and to their credit they exploited it.

Bama has13 scholarship players and in that game:

1.James Rojas-Out for Season
2.Juwan Gary-Out for season
3.Jahvon Quinerly- Not eligible
4.Raymond Hawkins-Redshirting
5.Herb Jones- Left in 1st half (elbow injury)
6.Alex Reese- played with Hip injury(Didn’t practice the 4 days before the game)
7.Beetle Bolden- Wrist Injury(Didn’t practice the 4 days before the game.

So we had 6 healthy players.

Among these were:

Galin Smith-Center
Javian Davis- Center.

Meaning we had 4 healthy Guards:

Kira Lewis
John Petty
Jaden Shackleford-Freshman
Jaylen Forbes- Freshman

4 healthy Guards on a team that wants to run and play fast ain’t gonna work, especially against a Penn team that returned everyone from a team that beat Villanova last season and was picked at the top of their conference.

Good gosh.

This is why you’re the only 0-1 team.

Excuses.

Penn is decent.

Most sec teams would have lost to them especially it being the first game of the year.
