I remember not long ago when a 4-5 million salary for a football coach was extremely high
Sabans starting salary in 2007 was 3.5 million and if i remember right it was the highest in the country at the time

The reason it is so high is that Arkansas was trying to send a message that we will take basketball more seriously and spend the cash.

In hindsight, he may not be worth it, but it probably is fair market value.

Nolan made more than Danny Ford for sure after 94 maybe before
Edit Nolan probably drew more fans than the football team at that time. Tickets for football then were like $10 so they could get folks to attend. Danny Ford sucked arse
