Do we think Ole Miss will be podded as a 2 seed to where they head to the Southern Miss regional? The latest D1 Baseball projection said no, but this will hurt their RPI.

This finally has to be it for Bianco, right?

they'll still be a 2 seed in the NCAAT and had an outside shot at hosting entering the SECT (15 RPI). Unless he retires, no I don't think him losing in the SECT means it's it for him

Nah, I would doubt that the SEC Tournament decides Bianco’s fate.

Has had a good season so far, and the NCAA tournament is still in play as a 2 seed.

Edit: er, what lsufball19 said…

Ole Miss will still be a 2 seed but now they may end up in Hattiesburg or Tallahassee instead of Lawrence or Eugene

Honestly, I think they may prefer that, especially Hattiesburg where their fans can actually attend in greater numbers.

But, they still have a strong resume for a 2 seed, so we'll see. I don't think the committee, if history tells us anything, will put a ton of weight on the SECT

Someone doesn't know Keith Carter and Bianco's relationship

Keith Carter has been the AD since 2019 and watched Bianco go 6-24 and 11-19 in B2B seasons a few years ago. He's not firing the guy who built their program after what he's done this year.

Ole Miss went 1 and done in Hoover 4 years ago and was sent to Coral Gables as a 3 seed.

The rest is history.

Keith literally was interviewing dudes middle of last season and got turned down by 3 coaches before begrudgingly keeping Bianco.

Keith also had the walking papers ready when he assumed they were missing the tourney in 2022.

link?

Who were the three coaches?

I just find it really odd an AD goes out of his way to engage a random fan on Twitter to defend Bianco if he's looking to replace him

That is the whole point. Every year we make a run in the SECT we come out tired and flat the next weekend and lose the regional. Winning a game or two wasn't going to help us. Losing doesn't really hurt either. The committee doesn't place much stock in tournaments.

Agreed, don’t think this changes much for them other than where they may end up playing. They’re put together enough to be able to compete wherever they go and they’ll still likely play a team 8-16 (just maybe not 15 or 16 like originally predicted)
