I’m excited to see what Alabama can do against McNeese. Good baseball program and Alabama is very young.

I'm pretty anxious to see what Bama does this year when we get to conference play.

19 true freshman it likely won’t be great. When you’re preseason too 25 and still picked to finish last in the west, you play in a hell of a conference. They are also at a disadvantage with scholarships when compared to other great schools like LSU. If they pass the lottery that may help but it will take a few years to actually compete with any consistency with the west.

Not a lot of those guys will be playing, though. We return quite a bit from last year.

We have a lot of 2nd year guys who didn't get to play in SEC games, though, so that will all be new to them (Prielipp, Jean, Diodati, Jarvis, Wilson).

True. I’m not saying they’ll be bad but baseball is a game of reps and experience. If Bama can hang on to these guys and pick up a couple of great arms this off-season they’ll make a run at the west next year.

I mean we're picked 7th in the West for a reason. We're not quite at the level of the Top 3-4 teams talent wise and we haven't proven anything in the league like the next 2-3 teams have.

This team should make it back to Hoover and the NCAAT. Anything less than that is a pretty big disappointment.

Least excited I’ve been about opening day in along time. 1. Were not expected to be all that good. 2. With all the shite going on recently it’s been hard to focus on sports.

I think we’ll have a top half, maybe top quarter of the SEC pitching. But our hitting will be bottom quarter. In a normal year, we’d win 40 and be in the top 25. But the league is just too stacked this year.
