When LSU gets kicked out and then wins the national championship, that means all proceeds go directly to LSU right? None of the tv revenue generated will go out to the sec schools?

Maybe. Maybe not. But this is fricking awesome either way.

Is kiffin’s wrath something to be scared of? I mean he only wins 6.5 games out of 10, do you think he’s Saban now? I mean he’s a very well established 8-4 coach after 15 years as a head coach

At this point it is about branding of the conference. According to AI the sec brand is valued somewhere between 15 and 20 billion $. That brand is tied at the hip to a nearly 90 year history of amateur collegiate athletics which has always maintained that once you did more than have a minor dalliance with a professional league in one sport you were no longer eligible to participate in that sport withing the SEC. It has always been a foundational element in the same way that any athlete who was proven to be a degenerate gambler would not be eligible. LSU pushed the issue - and in doing so "damaged" the brand in a manner that can't be walked back regardless of whether anyone plays or not. I am not convinced the brand has been damaged in light of recent events in collegiate athletics - I think the brand of the entirety of college athletics has been damaged beyond repair without Texas Tech trying to roster a degenerate gambler OR LSU indicating they were going to roster players who had done more than flirted with the NFL. I also do not think LSU can make the claim that there brand has been damaged - I think in the current climate of the United States where destroying traditional institutions is a damned enjoyable undertaking LSU's indication that there should be no limits at all in how they manage their program has only enhanced their brand. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I do think, should the SEC prevail, and I don't think they do, they may well settle for either booting LSU out, which damages everyone in the conference, or some sort of "punishment" for the man, Kiffin, who is the head of the program. Whether that is a suspension for rent a win teams or an outright dismissal I do not know BUT...and this may be going off into tin foil hat land...Alabama having never contacted Kiffin when Saban retired indicates, at least superficially, that a program who has been rumored at times to have undue sway over the SEC did not contact Kiffin because they knew he was not representative of the SEC brand as a head coach....and, if they do indeed have more influence than they should, it is pretty easy to imagine that influence could extend to Kiffin being fired or LSU being booted. I don't think any of that happens BUT it is most likely being discussed at a higher level than what is discussed on a message board. There is ample reason for the SEC overall to not want to be in business with LSU...he destroyed Tennessee and left Ole Miss during a playoff run. At the time Tennessee was second only to Alabama in the conference historically in terms of wins and relevance. All 4 schools are charter members....LSU is a massive brand but they ain't bigger than the SEC. Its interesting times....
