I wouldn’t trade my experience at UGA for anything. But if I had to choose, I would have attended LSU because of an extended family connection.

Probably Alabama or Arkansas. These may be the only schools who would accept me academically.

Back in 1979, I applied to Auburn and Notre Dame and got accepted to both.

By the process of elimination, if I hadn't gone to Auburn, I would have gone to Notre Dame.

I almost went to South Carolina. My family is chock full of Tennessee grads and I grew up goin to football and basketball games. Going to UT was a given, until I decided to try something else, see other parts of the country. Loved SC but had no connections/ties down there. I have family in BR however so that's that.

TL;DR answer:

South Carolina or Tennessee.

Got done in January.

In reality: Nowhere else.

As a hypothetical: LSU

I don't have a problem with this for the younger grads as this is truth, but to think UGA is Harvard South for awhile is ridiculous. UGA is a fine university, but I know just as many AU grads making bank right now as I do UGA grads bringing in 40k a year. UGA's recent reputation is a result of the lottery, not a bad arse educational program.
