Didn’t UTSA get their own field like a decade ago? That pic is clearly the Alamo dome.

Only LSU, Texas, Alabama and South Carolina had the balls to play a good team.

Florida….seriously?

Florida A+M backed out of playing us with little time. We had to replace with who ever we could.

Yeah. But given the recent troubles of winning a week one matchup game, I wouldn't mind swapping Clemson for that New York high school Florida is playing.

Why are there SEC teams playing at some of these stadiums?

Alabama plays FSU in their first game, FSU went 2-10 in 2024,……, and you want to say that is one of the four best openers…?

Well, since Bama fans will turn on their coach and eat him alive if he loses that game I guess I see your point.

Damn Southern Miss is pretty impressive.

Poor old Georgia State wedged in a baseball stadium that wasn't a great baseball venue either...

Is Syracuse's stadium still the Carrier Dome and still without air conditioning LOL? That was pretty bad naming rights back in the day, its ridiculous if it hasn't changed.

The main difference is while we play Ohio State and Michigan OOC the next 3 years you play Washington State or Tulane (I am just guessing) as your big OOC opponent.

We play a top 5 team and you (and the majority of SEC teams) do not play a single OOC teams that will sniff the top 25.

Thats the difference. Every college team plays cupcakes, the difference is the SEC has (and clearly is still) plays cupcakes without scheduling a tough opponent. Not all SEC teams but the majority.

That's a highscool stadium

A small, underfunded high school. Probably a pretty good university though...

It's crazy how Turner Field has become such a distant memory ...

Good riddance to bad rubbish....it was a LOUSY baseball venue. Fulton County Stadium with backed up toilets and trough pissers was a better MLB stadium than Turner Field was. Turner Field is largely responsible for Truist which is FANTASTIC. I wanted to hate it because it ain't remotely Atlanta or even Vinings it is and always will be Smyrna BUT The Battery is a blast with a game or not...very nice venue, especially for Smyrna....

UTEPs stadium is pretty damn nice and in a fantastic location in a fantastic city. Unless you are scared of brown folks.

looks like it once was a baseball stadium or can convert to a baseball stadium...

It was the Braves home stadium between Fulton County Stadium and Truist. It SUCKED as a baseball stadium or for any event....it was about 80 degree incline and if you wore a size 6 or bigger shoe your feet had to turn at right angles to fit between the aisle. I do not know what they were thinking. It was SO steep people would literally crawl down the steps sober or walk down backwards because it felt like you were stepping off into thin air on every step. I am not sure there was a good seat in the house. They paid far more attention to the in game but out your seat atmosphere...it was great in that respect, it was just about as fun as a nut thumping trying to watch a ballgame in it.

originally the Olympic Stadium with an 85k capacity before it became Turner Field.

That's why I asked. It looked like a mammoth stadium being used for a Georgia State game. I was wondering if they borrowed a field from someone else.

Thanks for explaining

I think Alamo Dome *is* considered their field these days.

Maybe but still some other good matchups. Auburn vs Baylor ain't bad at all, for example.

Better than what we'll see the 2nd and 3rd weeks...

You play UTEP and Sam Houston State this year.

Sidenote- Due to a much needed renovation of Bower Stadium, Sam Houston State will be playing its 2025 home games at Shell Energy Stadium in downtown Houston, home of Houston Dynamo FC.

The SEC has always tried to "backdoor" or "chicken-shite" their way into championships. You would think the Fans would demand more, but the SEC Fans love it. It's just that culture over there. Nothing comes associated with integrity or value, etc... Just take it, there is no shame - like food stamps or something. Fans support it just as much as the programs do.

Just a few:

1) always voting to keep other state Universities out of the conference

2) Schedules cupcakes like Furman for example, whatever that is

3) 8 conference games, minimize real games to boost W-L record
