I see Higgins mentioned him, is there fire there? That would be a really solid hire. He'd be able to keep tapping into his current recruiting ties. LSU would be consistently solid again pretty quick.

I cant see anyone leaving Baylor for LSU in basketball. He's built up some pretty good recruiting momentum in Baylor and always has a competitive team. Then again Baylor is located in the middle of a shite hole

I wouldn't be surprised by anyone getting out of Baylor right now

The fire is Drew's main recruiting base is already Louisiana(we have lost countless of our top recruits to Drew at Baylor.) He has ties to Dale Brown as his father coached for Dale.

Also, their is a huge negative cloud around the entire athletic dept at Baylor right now. This could cause a trickle down effect on the basketball program.

It is a long shot, but this is all I can come up with on why Drew's name is even mentioned.

I think the entire Baylor athletic department situation is a nightmare right now. Everything you say or do is scrutinized at an incredible level, you get asked about it nonstop, it is probably a weight around your neck in recruiting.

I wouldn't be surprised if he made a jump.

Well Baylor has a lot of money and will throw the house at him to stay.

Still LSU is a much better brand in basketball with just as nice of facilities. Oh yeah, and we don't have a school wide rape scandal surrounding the school.

If it weren't for the scandal I'd say no shot, but we might have nailed the timing with him. Still I think it'd take 3 million, and I'm not sure the brass wants to spend that on basketball

I'm not sure if you've ever been to Fayetteville, but it's actually pretty fricking nice.

Still as much as I hate Baton Rouge I think it's much better than Waco

Would be a great hire but his current salary is almost $2.8mil. I dont see LSU putting up that kind of money...

I'm curious as to whether this would cause him to leave, especially when compared to the circumstances which led to his hiring at Baylor in the first place.

Really? With all the new money pouring in and a proven guy like Drew I'd think he'd be worth $3M.

1. Jon Calipari ($7.0M)
2. Avery Johnson ($2.8M)
3. Bruce Pearl ($2.275M)
4. Rick Barnes ($2.25M)
5. Mike Anderson ($2.2M)
5. Frank Martin ($2.2M)
7. Ben Howland ($2.05M)
8. Mark Fox ($2.0M)
8. Mike White ($2.0M)
10. Andy Kennedy ($1.925M)
11. Bill Kennedy ($1.0M)

$3.1-$3.2M would seem like a decent rate

He's a scum bag but he will make LSU a hell of a lot better if you get him.

I am hoping that Drew wants to come to Baton Rouge where he lived as a child. He was a ball boy at LSU in the early Dale Brown era. But I cannot see LSU's current admins agreeing to pay any MBB HC over $3 million. It's a crying shame, imo, as a longtime LSUMBB season ticket holder.

I can see Scott Drew at LSU. It would be difficult to take his act to a public school (open records laws) but some public schools seem to be able to hide things almost as well as a private school.
