SCAR fans? How will you feel when you don't hire Herman?

I just read your coaching search thread and it seems your fanbase is convinced you are hiring and Herman and have whipped yourselves into a frenzy.
Are you going to be disappointed with ANY other coach at this point? What if it's Smart?

Herman is obviously the top choice, and I wouldn't be as excited for Smart. However, I wouldn't be pissed either. I think Smart wouldn't make as big of a splash initially, but he could be a solid coach for a long time here.

Weak sauce man.
If that is what happens, I wouldn't be pissed to have Smart. Deep deep ties to the south and one of the best recruiters out there. Plus we'd get him a real nice OC to go along with it.

Of course you are consistent with your hyperbole - we expect nothing less from you. "Whipped into a frenzy" is a bit of a stretch, but we're excited at the prospect.

I would like Herman, Smart or Fuente. If we get any of those 3, I'll be happy. If we get surprised and get Dantonio, that would be awesome as well.
I believe we are going to get one of our top choices, if not the top choice. We have a lot to offer right now in $, facilities and exposure.

What about the super secret BOT meeting you are referencing?
Why is that not on the public docket like all other trustee/curator meetings? SC is a public university.

Dantonio would be an absolute grand slam. SC would be scary as hell with him.
Not only a great coach, but he's not going to jump ship if he has success. If you guys are backing up the truck then that's who I would make say no first.

It's no secret. Impromptu meetings such as this are called all the time, especially during the course of coaching searches, when decisions are near.
Do we old school SEC fans have to teach you yankees everything?
It brings a special joy to my heart though, knowing you mizzourites are stalking our coaching search thread.
I think it is safe to say that most Gamecock fans find our big brother to your little brother relationship that is developing somewhat cute ... on some level.

You said an announcement was coming Monday (also that it's a HR).
If an announcement is coming Monday, you'd have to have the contract approved and that meeting would have to be on public docket. That's how this works
