Ole Miss's QBs have looked pretty good recently. That backup was really good when I watched him play.
Boom was always a good OC away from being a great coach.

BMac seems like a really solid guy - I hope he does well here. This is a three year contract so we get him as an OC, as a person, as a recruiter and as a committed member of the staff. His press conference was excellent.

Seems really pumped to be working with Werner. And Werner being, not only the QB coach but, a former OC ... they may be able to meld-minds and come-up with a dynamic offense.
Werner is the most interesting part of this hire to me, IMHO.
I'm wondering what territory Werner is going to recruit ... and for that matter if he is a solid recruiter?
That press conference, linked above, is really very interesting. This staff shows a lot of promise.
Hearing the January 10 hire announcement is going to be another great addition as well.
Should be interesting seeing who all the #10 coaches around the league end-up being.

Open warfare for notable high end support staff...

Having Werner there should help McClendon with new role as well. Solid move

I think Werner is a decent hire but I'm not sure why people would say it's a great offer.

I love seeing USCe do well.

Werner doesn’t recruit. They will have someone on staff recruit for him. Single father with autistic child. They still live in Oxford and he would fly to Tuscaloosa each weekend.

Yeah ... ya know - that's going to be the interesting part.
The guys seem to think we're going to promote from within here at SC. But it's going to be interesting to see how many of our programs go outside for a coach when filling this #10 slot that is opening-up for staffs.
I mean these additions will be huge for each staff ... on the practice field AND on the recruiting trail.

Someone that works for an agent thought it would just get a bunch of support staff promoted.
UF does not have anyone to promote within right now.
I think it will be interesting to see how the 10th coach is used. Will there be ST only coaches or more position breakdowns like OT/TE and C/G coaches?

If it were me, I'd be looking for a great recruiter who can also coach special teams.
It would have to be a seriously great recruiter though.

Moves in the right direction.
McClendon has called 2 bowl games and did well. I understand concerns, but you have to weigh out the cons (losing him and coaching against him... this was the exact same question in front of UGA when Scar showed interest in Bama's DC Smart).
McClendon definitely feels he is ready.

Should have hired Tanyhill

Stevie Wondertail is past coaching. The guy was incredibly successful as a HS coach in SC where he won state championships at three different highschools. He's retired out of the system now, drawing a pension and he owns the most famous bar in Columbia ... Group Therapy, where all he has to do is walk around shaking hands and people love him.

I just realized we have a black OC AND a black DC. I love that. That must not be too common.

One of only three programs in the country.
They were hired for their ability to coach and recruit though.

Oh definitely, I just found that really cool
