Wasn’t he projected to be our ace? He can’t find the strike zone. Had a good night at the plate yesterday so still a valuable player. We need him or someone to become a dependable 3rd starter.

Don’t understand why State does the stupid shift. And then the pitcher throws a pitch outside to a right hand batter who then just punches a ball through the two hole for a base hit.

College baseball umpires need to be replaced with ABS next year. So, so bad.

I always wondered why Georgia hadn't won more titles in baseball. One of our primary rivals in AABC ball was East Cobb. Tons of talent in that program, many went on to MLB careers. Of course many of them may not have met Georgia's academic requirements.

Two hole meaning where the second baseman plays. But yes I get your point that on a scorecard it is the four hole…LOL

Buck is an alum, still holds State’s season batting average record.

Have to give the HP umpire credit. Low outside/Low inside pitch has been a strike every time and well off the black to boot.

Just In: Sooners will start LHP Trent Collier this afternoon, Cord Rager a late scratch. Collier has thrown 9.1 innings, allowing 7 hits, 2 runs, 2 BB & 12 Ks this season, sporting a 1.93 ERA. Will be his first career start at OU

Yeah it’s objectively not a strike but he’s calling it both ways so gotta live with it. Also calling a lot of chest high strikes which are giving us fits.

Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Probably a good call, if the kid doesn’t get nervous and lose the strike zone in the 1st inning. Changing your starting pitcher at the last minute probably wipes out a decent amount of prep work from the other team if you have someone you can go to that’s as good (or certainly if better).

ETA: OU’s coach probably knew this was coming for several days now…nice job keeping it a surprise.

Skip Johnson says OU pitcher Cord Rager has a “tender lat” and will not make his normal start today. It is precautionary and they are hopeful he will be back next weekend at Vanderbilt.

Georgia strands runners at first and third top of the 9th. Still 5-5. Hopefully we’ll see extra baseball today

How is UGA’s RPI only 24, and that’s after climbing 16 spots since Sunday? They have 4 Q4/Q3 losses. That seems excessive for top 5 ranked team and how good they are. I wasn’t paying attention much other than Bama in the non-conf…what happened?

We have two solid starters then struggle after that. No one to pitch mid week.

**no one reliable.
