Whether he knows it or not.
If he wins, I need not expand on what the media take-away will be.
But if he loses - he still has made a statement. And that statement is he is not a next-level guy. We shall see.
Hot seat? Oh hell, no. But concerning? I would say so, to a modest degree. Sark has always been an 8-win guy before the Texas gig. With Texas backing, he is showing he can do more than that.
But can he close the deal? Remains to be seen. Texas has jumped ahead and then folded on half their games this season. That is not a good look. They've ended up winning most times, but this offense, and its inability to consistently play with its hair on fire is troubling. At some point, that comes back to Sark.
So let's see what happens.

This is my biggest concern and has been the case post Mack, regardless of the coach. I don't recall watching any other program exhibit this behavior consistently. It seems like this is every Texas team year after year. The major difference is with this team, they could be really good. However, they can't seem to put 4 quarters together for a full season or even week to week.

So I guess his offense at Bama that won a natty wasn't next level?

Go away child. The adults are talking right now.
The offense he worked with at 'bama was Saban's offense, not Sarks. His only other stint as a head coach did not end well.

yeah.. just a tad tooo far
perhaps Lane’s offense would have sounded slightly more believable

Saban's offense you mean the guy who *checks notes* played DB in college and only ever coached on the defensive side of the ball his entire career ran his offense over Sark's?
LMFAO
Sark's offense is fine what sucks is he's clearly over his skis trying to be the HC and call plays during the game. He needs to cede playcalling duty to his OC. He is pretty fricking good at the rest...

Getting the excuses and the copes ready? Actually not a bad idea but Texas fans will get roasted badly if Texas loses.

They better buckle up that d-line and hope the secondary can knee up with those WR. If they can take away the deep ball and tighten up against the run game they have a chance. Also need a few trick plays with manning in the game. Going to be a tough one.

Not sure the offense is the issue at all - at least from a scheme standpoint. The offense has shown to be very effective. The issue, at least in my opinion, is the urgency the team plays with (or doesn’t play with) once they have the lead. It seems they get ahead, and feel very comfortable with average effort. Frequently, both offense and defense appear to lack the killer instinct required to bury an opponent. In their (limited) life experience, they can always just turn it on if needed. It doesn’t always work that way at this level, especially when the other team is playing with a chip on their shoulders. Just my $.02

Will they let up. They put 42 up on Oregon I believe.

Maybe they come from behind and win.

? No idea, my comment was solely about Texas. I don’t watch enough OSU to make that call, but I would imagine most blue chip programs have the propensity to let entitlement creep in and let off the gas from time to time.

Yeah, transfer portal and NIL are going to make things difficult for blue chip programs. Hard to maintain purchased loyalty, and even harder to motivate 18-21 year olds who previously saw the tireless work they put in as their ticket to NFL money. Not sure how to consistently motivate a late teen/early twenties kid who already has millions. Some may have that sort of drive, but I figure plenty are going to be a lesser player due to lack of hunger.
