They have a soft culture and it’s going to keep showing. Soft cultures do not work in the SEC.

Holy shite on the quote from Sark! He’s really missing the Big 12. What a pussy.

Yeah it’s over for him. Some of our fans just don’t know it yet.
He is a soft west coast head coach. I didn’t think he would work in the sec when he was hired. Appears I was right

I still think there are BIG problems in the locker room. Watch Arch on the bench. He sits alone, doesn't interact with the team, and no one comes over to encourage him.

TV can be deceiving but I thought I noticed a weird interaction when Wingo caught the deep TD. Arch ran over to celebrate and the WRs acted like he wasn’t there.

For Sark to actually be quoted as saying that about playing in tough environments is definitely a red flag. He took the job but he’s in too damn deep over his head

Respect to you for your candor. I’d say that attitude is a very small minority in your fanbase.

If you hear the comments from your media analyst types, then you know what I’m talking about.

He’s channeling Mack Brown vibes from the downslope in his last couple of years there...

Well they profit from the fan base staying interested in the program so I understand why they pump that sunshine.
An apathetic fan base is bad for business.

Texas will always be a place that has trouble finding the right coach because it is such a unique environment and even when they get one they will chase him off at some point (see DKR and Mack Brown). They have unlimited money but will never have a culture of toughness and discipline. It's appealing as hell to a player to go there with big NIL money and living in Austin and all the pub. Problem is they don't really attract team players, it's all hired guns.

Any coach at Texas will have to deal with the alumni that are more intrusive than Jerry Jones as well. To succeed you need to be a CEO type coach. Sark has some of those attributes so he has hung in there longer than I expected but he doesn't have the aura of a DKR or Brown and ability to play off the gentleman cowboy persona they want. As long as he wins 10 games he is fine of course but that's going to get very difficult going forward. Texas likes to play where they have big advantages over their conference mates and that isn't the case in the SEC, at best they have a modest advantage.

Unfortunately this will lead to them getting angry and finding ways to blow up the conference. Happened in the SWC and Big 12, SEC is just next up.

Sure, and when sunshine pumping doesn’t produce results, you’re left with confusion and bewilderment…

Pretty harsh call, you might be right.

When growing numbers of a fanbase turn on a coach because of what they see on the field the situation never gets better only worse.

this is a crock of shite. Sark isn’t failing because of boosters meddling or the bright lights in Austin. he’s failing because he’s so focused on being an OC that he’s neglecting to be up his OL coach’s arse about the fat, unathletic “big humans” we keep recruiting to block for our overhyped QB and injured RBs

Been saying this for a while. Sark gets a Kiffin level playcaller rep cause of the Covid season. He isn't half as good at Kiffin at that, and he just comes off as awkward as frick when he tries to be the CEO.

So what are YOU, Dick? Are you a sober, church going hypocrite? I’ve been hanging around this board since 2009. I was an alcoholic then and still am. Difference is I haven’t had a drink in 10 years.

A lot of message board warriors on the rant. Most I bet have severe drinking issues.

Not cool to make fun of someone who is striving everyday not to grab a bottle. Sark is a decent person. Maybe a bad coach, I get it, but calling him a drunk shows what little class you have.

Realistically what do you want at Texas? A natty every year? No one in today’s environment will have a dynasty again. Yea, maybe a two year run like you all had and you got damn close. Can’t expect every year. Falloff will happen to everyone. Let’s see how Sark finishes. I’m betting he gets it turned around.

I have enjoyed your posts over the years. Please explain how Texas will or can destroy the SEC? If anything at all, I see Texas leaving and going independent and structuring their own TV deals like ND and scheduling opponents they can beat.

You are looking at the micro not the macro. I'm talking about what will eventually lead to him getting fired not why he is struggling at the moment. He's still got some capital to burn off last year making the Playoffs. He loses to OU and A&M though and things are going to get very interesting. I think he's a bright offensive mind and he's not terrible at the CEO thing (better than Herman or Strong, not nearly as good as Brown or DKR. More Fred Akers/John Mackovic energy).

I always saw Sark as a placeholder hire for Texas, he's done a little better than I expected but he's likely to lead you to the hell of "pretty good" that Aggies know too much about.

This has been going on all season except the Sam Houston game. It was apparent during the OSU game also.

I think there are problems in the locker room even though Sark says the culture is fine.
