Op is absolutely right, and Boise and Arizona State get byes.

That is freaking unbelievable Sankey signed off on such a set of rules.

Ole Miss
Bama
South Carolina
LSU
Texas A&M
Florida
Mizzou

They all give ND better games than Indiana just did.

Even with a schedule that went their way. Big Ten has the 2nd most power among the conferences. This isn’t a mountain west team we are talking about here

Ehh, well they only played two teams above 500 regular season. And lost one of 2. Even Miami may have had a better resume

Whatever. Were they supposed to invite Alabama to the playoff instead?

Sankey simply sucks up to the broadcast money brokers.

Notre Dame has a huge following so this first game wasn't about possibly eliminating Notre Dame, It was about rolling out this new format and setting up the hype for the next round on New Years Day.

This game would have been competitive

The announcers a few weeks ago:

SMU and Indiana deserve to be in the playoffs! This isn’t fair!

The announcers at kickoff:

Indiana is a great team and has been all year. They deserve this.

The announcers in the 4th:

A lot of people will question if Indiana ever deserved this. We knew they didn’t because the Big 10 sucks, I still don’t understand why the committee did this and it probably needs to be addressed next year.

He should’ve fought to keep it four where the SEC feasted the majority of the time.

All because a bubble teen team didn’t make it? Here’s an idea, did you have Bama with 3 loses?
