Bill Dooley was never the head coach at Mississippi State.

No he wasn't, but he got his start there as OL coach for five years. He and Johnny Majors, who was the DB's coach, were on the same staff at State. They honored that 1963 Liberty Bowl team back in 2013, and Coach Majors was there. I want to say Coach Dooley was also, but I can't remember if I saw him or not.

He's definitely wearing out his welcome.

This year was a huge setback for the program.

They'll give him one mm ore year, but if he doesn't at the very least get the Hogs into a bowl game, he may be gone sooner than expected.

Briles is stupid. He calls plays like my nephew on Madden. Go check out Fayette Villains post-op on the game

What’s briles supposed to do when nobody blocks up front or the receiver drops touchdowns and let’s the ball bounce into defenders hands for INTs in the end zone

He was doing ok and fans were tolerating his mistakes but the Liberty game happened and it is the beginning of the end for the Sam Pittman era.

This team hasn't been prepared to play since the USCe game.

That's on Sam

Realistic fans would understand he is just filler until something better comes later on.

He is a notch above Chad but on the same level as Bert who loses against winnable games such as the A&M game and G5 schools. Both coaches were or lazy for game preparation and game management.

The only difference is Sam doesn't run his mouth like Bert he did when he was in Texas and on Twitter.

Basically all we wanted from him.

He's a victim of his own success from last year.

Just need him to get it right for the next coach to do more.

He coaches like a position coach who punts his decisions to the OC and DC when he shouldn't be doing so.

The player management is bad and this Jefferson/Hornsby ordeal is confusing.

Tap the breaks. He still has the program trending up compared to after the motorcycle incident that killed the program and “SMILE”

Need a different defensive look and build some depth which again takes time. With NIL he should have the ability to do this. If he doesn’t take advantage of that Walmart money and get some talent in, then yes y’all go ahead and have that talk.

Otherwise I’d stick to figuring out who replaces Nick when he retires after getting pissed off at the fanbase for losing interest after 2 losses.

He’s not a snake oil salesman. He is a good person but he has limitations and was a good feel good story but results are always king. He’s great for Arkansas but they too will be calling for his firing before too long, but he is a good dude of college football.

No one look now but Mike Leach is also 17-16 in Starkville.

And play a damn non-conference schedule that gives you wins! Good grief this year was a joke. Need cupcakes to let young guys play and keep starters healthy.

You mean you don't want to see your team play good opponents?

Trust me, the other side of the coin is boring. I got to see Ole Miss play Troy, Central Arkansas, Georgia Tech, thus far this season. I'd much rather see the Rebs take on Cincinnati, BYU, etc.

Why is this a thread? I know you're slow, but we already played... and you won.

Maybe it's PTSD from getting owned by Tenner & LSU. They kicked the shite out of you, so this is how you compensate?

I am not a Razorback fan, but I admire Sam Pittman and didn't expect to see such a setback this season. I thought he was the hire to re-establish a foundation for Arkansas.

Back then, both LSU and Arkansas were angling for Barry Odom. At that time, I thought that LSU missed out on a good one.

Last year, Hog fans were raising up Pittman, Odom and Bryles. This year, they're crashing down on them.

No loyalty to man who has vowed to be loyal to Arky? For shame

Because you drank the koolaid by the offseason talking heads and dinguses on here. They lost key pieces to draft and transfer. Look at Foucha and the others at LSU now making big plays. Arky was going to live and die by Jefferson and the RB. Jefferson has been dinged up and even if he was healthy would he be capable of propelling Arky past LSU or Bama?

While losing to Liberty on a normal basis would be awful this Liberty has a good coach trying to 'interview' for the Auburn job
