And Bama wouldn't? Our revenues went up 16% from last year.
y'all can pretend like Bama has as much money to offer as Texas as much as you want. That doesn't make it true.

That cracks me up whenever I hear a bama fan say that. Texas has the largest money making athletic dept. in the nation, by a HUGE amount. Oil money trumps bama mafia money. If it comes down to dollars, bama is screwed. I don't think he will leave. I don't see any other school giving him the total control he has at bama. Only time will tell though.

It's not that Alabama has as much petty cash as UT - they don't.

It's what is UT's ceiling and does Alabama have THAT much money - they do.

It's only a matter of time now. Just hope he doesn't treat Alabama the way he treated Miami.

If he leaves, he leaves. It doesn't matter what city Saban coaches in. A practice field looks the same in Tuscaloosa as one does in Austin. What matters is if his family likes the city. They're the ones who actually do the living there. Nick only needs a house and a team. I hope he stays. We'll see.

Wrong. I have lived in TX long enough to know better. Maybe they are no worse than Bama or LSU, but they are still pretty shatty fans.

Couldn't disagree more. I have lived in Austin for nine years and the passion and buzz around town is no where near as loud or consuming as at a big sec school.

Texas fans do love their team, but they basically write big checks to the school, show up to the games but don't have die hard passion like fans at Bama and lsu.

I have watched first hand these past few years. if they lose they move on with there lives. Austin also has tons of stuff to do and their is not as much attention on the horns at all times like their is in Bama.

From what I've been told, you are right. What is missing from the equation is what "private" perks and deals may be offered to Nick by some wealthy and powerful Texas boosters.

Back in March, he donated his home to the Crimson Tide Foundation (Book 2013, p 4844, Tuscaloosa County Probate Records).

On the other hand, his son bought a house in a neighborhood across the street from Crowne Pointe - (Book 2012, 36308, Tuscaloosa County Probate Records).

Have a looksee.

I guess he could be trolling the shite out of his son, but you'd have to be some kind of dick to do that. Everyone knows that Saban's no dick.

Did I miss something and Nick Saban is actually dead? Probate records? Do you mean property records?

i think it is funny that someone is trolling the rest of the sEC and the horns.

no matter how many times they say they are happy in ttown and that they will retire there, no one believes them..He turns 62 soon..i also understand that other relatives live in tuscaloosa and this would change a lot of things if he left.

His son is fixing to also give them their first grand child

Probate judge's office is where you file these records in Tuscaloosa County. Used to be that way in every Alabama county, but some have moved to a more modern system.

I never said we had as much money as UT does but we have enough to pay off any debts if that is the issue. Please read the posts more closely.

We can pay him $9m easy.

The "private" perks part is a consideration. On the other hand, I can see Saban coach at Alabama 2 or 3 more years and then take one last stab at the NFL with a franchise that offers him a big time deal and a % of ownership. That would give him the massive final contract and allow him a chance to conquer one last mountain in coaching.

THis is so easy to figure out its pathetic. Obviously some property owners who are probably Texas alumni are offering Terry Saban and/or Nick Saban great property deals in the hopes it would spur them to seriously consider going to Texas. Saban is not leaving the University of Alabama as he is pretty much a damn GOD of the whole football program and has total control. The only way he would leave is 2 options: 1: He's gotten or is getting bored with it, or 2: Some higher ups are sticking their noses in to influence the program, to which he would bolt in a minute.
