If I was Saban and I won one more natty with Bama in the next few years, I would go back to Kent State (his alma mater), and build that program up before I retired. You know he could get the players and coaches there to succeed. It would be a nice gesture. We were discussing this at supper last night about giving back. It would be good for all coaches to give back to the school that gave them an opportunity.

Kent state pays its head coach $440k
Scans makes 9.3 million
But you would take a 9 million dollar pay cut every year?

Everything isn't about money. Hell, If I had Saban's money, I would do it for free.

When Nick hangs up his Nike's (including that straw) then he will report to Irondale as the head car salesman. Can you imagine being on his sales team for those Monday meetings.

but seriously, what do you even do with 9.3 million dollars every year?
eta: especially when you're a workaholic like Saban is. He's either planning for and coaching the currrent team, planning for the next season, or recruiting 24/7/365. Never really much time to spend 9.3 million every year.

I'm afraid it's not that easy. Have you got any idea how much money state-of-the-art equipment and facilities cost? I doubt Kent State's entire budget would touch it.

Watch what Primetime does at Jacksonville St. You don't need tons of money to kick some a$$ in football.

Think of it.
He could actually take Tennessee and turn it from a complete loser to a winner.
Or he could take Uga and win one after 43 years of drought.

I wouldn't even be upset if he rode off into the sunset at his alma mater after one more title here.
