Nothing more to prove for Saban at Bama.

Sure there is. Win this year, and he might want to go for winning 3 in a row

The only people who think he has "something to prove" are talk show idiots who can't think objectively with the taste of Jim Harbaugh's taint in their mouth.

He's gotta be getting sick of recruiting too.

I'm pretty sure that recruiting is one of his favorite things

Eh, I think it's more so they think Saban feels like he left something to prove in the NFL. I think all Saban discovered in the NFL was he didn't really like the politics and business model of the professional game. Like I said, Miami wasn't firing him. He left on his own terms. The people who say he "failed miserably" in the NFL are just trying to push a narrative that isn't there. I'll admit, I thought for a minute that when Pete Carroll won a Super Bowl, making him one of only two coaches to win a title in college and in the NFL, he may have thought about it. But that was 5 years ago now. If that meant something to him, he's had ample opportunities since to make that leap.

Not if he still wanted to prove he was the best at college football first, which he will prove in titles if he wins tonight.

Imagine if Saban goes to the Packers or Browns and wins 3 Super Bowls in 6-7 years. Will anyone be able to say he is not only the best college football coach, but also the best FOOTBALL coach to ever live? Only way you can prove that is to jump to the NFL and prove it there as well.

Some coaches just don't have the desire to be in the NFL. I think he tried it and had enough. College is his gig. He could never have the control over pros that he does over a college program, and Saban is nothing if he's not controlling.

You know Sexton is going to start the NFL rumors just to get more from Bama

Think back over the last decade, how many times have you started threads identical to this one?

Probably about as many times as you've had sex with your cousins.

At least it’s not an LSU starting this dumb arse thread again.

Saban is a control freak. He found out he can’t control adult men with families and homes like he could with the 18-21 year olds.

Imagine if Saban wins 10 national titles at the college level. Will anyone be able to say he isn't the best football coach of all-time? He's not going to the NFL, bottom line. I honestly don't know why people start these threads every offseason at this point.

Sexton doesn't have to start a rumor to get Saban a raise. Saban just has to name a number. Easiest client on the books.

Bill Belichick with Tom Brady has won 5 Super Bowls in the past 18 years but if Saban really wants to prove himself he has to go coach the Browns and lead them to 3 super bowls in 6-7 years?
