Set the pay, contracts are signed either 1,2,or 3 year increments so players can’t up and transfer every year, and if players must prove how their NIL is actually being used.

There is almost no way to enforce this. The courts and greed of the Universities have hogtied the sport

Before the playoffs Saban made the comment that it's easier being a NFL coach these days
I knew right then and there he was all but done

I do think he had another 2/3 years left if he wanted but an expanded playoff means more games and a longer season

Players are gonna want more money if you are asking them to play as long as the NFL season

You might have players opt out before playoffs if you don't give them more money in NIL

nfl would always be my preference. even before nil, having to recruit 18 year olds sounds like a nightmare.

NFL is definitely a much easier gig these days. All you have to do is coach. What college football has become sent Saban packing. It can't be an easy job for any coach unless he is at one of the riches school where boosters can buy all the talent a coach requests.

Title IX is for equality in sports in that for every men's sport that a university sponsors there has to be a women's sport.

I would think NIL is more an individual thing. Name, Image, Likeness would relate to a particular player. Would collectives fall under the Title IX umbrella? Are these collectives under the umbrella of the institution or are they independent entities.

Depends on how the courts rule on it.

It’s not just Saban. Bruce Feldman said he’s spoken with many top 20 coaches that are about at their tipping point with NIL and portal and said don’t be surprised if all these names are in the NFL within 5 years

WNBA players wanting equal pay with NBA players. You don't think that's about to be injected into college

I don't think that's going to fly.

If I remember correctly, the US Women's Soccer Team took the US Olympic Committe (or somebody) to court for this very thing. In court it was brought out that the revenues generated by Women's Soccer weren't equal to those generated by the Men's team and they lost their case.

I would expect the same thing would happen in the case of the WNBA. And that would also apply to women's college sports and non-revenue producing sports

Once athletes become employees Title IX and equity of funding no longer applies.

It will all come to a head when the big money people
don`t get return for their $$$,meaning wins. The NFL prints
money there is no return in college but pride in your team
and that means winning.Mercinaries rarely work out its a
me not team situation.

NIL is going to turn college football into bad sports. You can already see it happening.

Like when the Ohio St players were goofing off before The Game? And people were trying to justify it as kids just having fun like always?

I hope you know Michigan had a few transfers. The kid that blew Booker up on Bama's last play came from Coastal Carolina. I think Michigan's money people got a return on their investment.

Why would athletes become employees? How would that benefit them?

We’re talking about school sports here. Top players will demand to be scholarship-level student athletes with NIL deals before agreeing to be a contracted employee.

After ole miss makes a run this next season I don’t give a frick anymore.

That Judkins situation is a great example of how you end up hating a player who should’ve been a legend for your school.

Yep, it's out of control, but fixing it cannot include people with money telling poor kids they don't deserve money or they don't deserve to transfer after a year

Coaches can leave on a dime, kids should be able to as well

What we need is a pro-minor league football division, exactly mirroring AAA pro baseball.

No, not the dipshit arena ball or "USFL as a minor league fix", simple minor league. One minor league team per NFL team

Dallas Cowboys AAA plays in Little Rock or whatever

Bengals AAA plays in Dayton or whatever

32 NFL teams, 32 minor league teams associated directly to the 32 majors

ETA: this is not going to fix all of the problem, but it should have been done a decade ago anyway, and it will help fix some of the problems

Make the minor league teams only 18-21 year olds. Once you're 22, you're on your own. Kids from poor backgrounds get the money they need quick, and less of that impacts college football.

So barn is in trouble? Wait...

NMSt shoveled the last bit of dirt on that grave last year. Imagine having Hugh Freeze conduct your funeral.

Ouch.

How do you coach players making 6 figures and up just to wear your uniform with no contract laying out expectations?

My guess is that this is why he didn't like the NFL, multiplied by a factor of 10.
