At best, a half truth. He might not be directly attracting them with NIL money, but he is in contact with the folks that are.
Dabo didn't want to play the NIL game. Check out his class

Players who come for NIL will be the first to quit in the post season when the NFL is around the corner

Saban is a liberal so he’s used to lying to our faces.

I haven’t watched a basketball game this year. I like pearl because I’ve met him a few times at functions and actually talked with him and seen him interact with fans. I am glad that auburn has a good basketball team but I don’t watch it whether good or not.

Than why was Boutte looking hard at bama?

Is that why he was the first to disclose how much a player was making when he spoke about Bryce Young? He’s full of shite

An Auburn person has checked out on football right now? Shocker!!

This is dumb. He’s been paying players for years

I agree, but that doesn't mean you stop recruiting them. It is a filthy, terrible system. But, it is the one the coaches have to deal with now.

His quarterback that he played all year had about a million in endorsements before he started playing for Alabama if I heard right
According to that posted, Saban didn't say NIL was bad, except for the part about working through adversity. He said..."People are making deals with high school players to go to their school." Which is a huge difference but dumb people might not understand the difference.
Actually, Saban was an early supporter of players being able to capitalize on their name, image, and likeness.
oops. The adversity bit was about transfer portal.

I had a little respect for Saban until I read that.

To the OP: That doesn't say that Alabama players won't be able to use NIL. It says he won't use NIL to attract the players to come. In other words, no play for pay. NIL is for individual players to work with legitimate businesses, and not for boosters to buy players.
It's only a matter of time, anyway, that regulations will be adopted by the major programs regarding NIL.
edit to note that Bryce Young was one of the first to make a million with NIL. Of course Saban's players will use NIL.

so Kiffin is also coming down on the boosters using NIL. This is just the beginning. Nearly all the coaches, ADs, administrators will demand regulations that make for a regulated NIL. Without it, college football wouldn't survive. Only maroons don't understand this.
Lane Kiffin: "Somehow, they’re going to have to control NIL. You’ve got these salary caps. (Schools) giving players millions to sign before they play and other places not able to do that. What would the NFL look like if two or three teams could pay 10 times more in salary cap?"

Yeah, what are the ords of an LSU wr getting drafted early and having success in the NfL?

Usually when Saban speaks rules change.
That's why his Media Days press conference has turned into a state of the union.
He's the sport's only national voice and celebrity coach.
