The players don't assume that risk. If he had done it during the game, he would have been thrown out.
Was it during the game?

Bro I guess rewording Saban’s comment confused you. I’m sorry about your reading comprehension

He chose to initiate contact. It wasn’t inevitable.
True, he shouldn't have initiated contact, (and may deserve internal punishment of some sort, maybe a one game suspension, or punishment drills). But if she hadn't rushed the field, would it have happened? Was she partially responsible for what happened by her unlawful actions? Should she also face consequences for her actions, maybe trespassing charges, or disturbing the peace?

Just me but it could be they met and as they crossed paths. She said something he didn’t like and he swings to knock her cap-hat off.
Not smart but not all football players are smart.
If he swings to hurt her she would be in the hospital or grave yard.
Damn..when it comes to this story, y'all have moved the goalposts more than the TN fans did on Saturday

Nick made himself perfectly clear. That woman should have been at home in the kitchen not on the field of play.
She luckily that pimp only hit her.

You keep saying this in every thread like it's some sort of "gotcha", but it really only makes you look like more of a dick
You're saying it's all okay because the girl wasn't hospitalized. "Not a big deal guys, he only hit her a little and not enough to cause an ER visit! Why does everyone keep overreacting?"
Go hit your wife a few more times, then stop right before you think a hospital visit is necessary. Sounds good to you, right?

She wasn’t punched, I’m not saying what he did was right, but he did not punch her. He shoved her at most. And I doubt he would do this unless she was taunting him in some way, shape, or form. Both are in the wrong but she was in the wrong first. Look at it how you want, but I think this whole thing should just be dropped. No one was affected.

We like to give y'all shite, but I don't think any of us saw this season's implosion coming (at least to this degree).
What he should have said is that Jermaine Burton is a star...therefore the appropriate action would have been a pussy grab.

I have a grown daughter and 3 grand daughters. My opinion would be no different.
I'm capable of telling the difference between a push and someone actually punching them regardless of who is involved.

Show me the law in the Tennessee code, I'll wait patiently.
Y'all keep saying this like rushing the field is against some actual law on the books, when it's not at all.
It's getting ridiculous how shallow some of you are, trying to defend this simply because the male that needlessly hit a female wears a certain set of clothing on Saturdays in the fall.
Look at yourselves and what you're saying (and making up) to justify shitty behavior

Lesson to be learned here for the lady. Don't go places your not supposed to be. If you do, consequences happen.
I remember when Tony Brown decked a fan on the field after the 17 Iron Bowl. Nothing happened to him, because the fan was in the wrong.
