They lost an emotional road game after a tragedy and lost. Bama lost at home.

Lol Bama fans don't read so well. I never said LSU didn't get lucky in 07. Never said that Les isn't lucky. Matter of fact I stated otherwise.

So, OP, do you believe Saban is the luckiest coach in college football? Do you believe Miles is the luckiest coach in college football?

Also, Mt FatAss's block of the UT fg was a straight up miracle fluke.

Yep, doing exactly what you had just done before is a miracle!

You seem to be ignoring all the times that Saban overcame luck going the other way, though. You're also overlooking the fact that Les Miles has pulled more golden horseshoes out of his arse than anyone in recent memory.

Bama got freaking bitched slapped in the 1st quarter of the A&M game last season. It would have been easy to pull an Auburn and play dead for the last 45 minutes. Bama had the talent and coaching to make the adjustments and nearly pull the game out. Sure Saban coached teams have had some luck over the last 6 years, but you have to put your program in the position for luck to make a difference. He does that better than any coach in recent memory.

I notice Bama fans refuse to admit Saban is lucky and only state that Les is lucky. The "he did it too" kindergarten argument kinda proves my point. That when Saban gets lucky its simply passed over as great coaching.

Yeah, having your one loss come against Iowa State is somehow better than having your one loss be an overtime loss to the undefeated team that happens to be in the same division you are in.

These arguments have been rehashed ad nauseum but Alabama didn't win their division and they already lost to LSU. If the purpose of a football game is to determine the better team, well we already had that answer. At best, and extra game b/w the two is lousy entertainment (esp as compared to a fresh opponent) and at worst it undermines the results of BOTH games (so they went 1-1 against each other, that's a definitive answer!).

A lot of rationalization of Alabama's increasing domination of college football going on in this thread.

What stage of grief is rationalization? I need to know how far some of you are from acceptance.

Saban is lucky that Mal wouldn't take "no" for an answer...

Pretty sure Bama proved they were better when they slaughtered them 21-0

It amazes me how much LSU fans bitch about Bama being lucky and getting unfair treatment yet ignore the fact that they really had no business winning the first matchup in 2011 and the title game proved it. The better team can lose 9-6, but the better team doesnt get crushed 21-0.

You're really making the argument that LSU didn't outplay Bama all over the field in 2012 for 90% of the game? Then how do you explain you bitching post 2011 first game that y'all deserve another shot because y'all outplayed us?

Maybe if you don't almost lose to Auburn and lose to
Florida. If you can't see the difference between a one loss team that completely destroys it's other 11 opponents and a 2 loss team that nearly got beat by some putrid teams, then I can't help you.

This is pretty spot on.

If it wasn't for OSU losing to ISU in a huge upset last year, Alabama would have not been in the title game.

If it wasn't for both Kansas State and Oregon losing in two games that they should have both easily won, then Alabama would have not been in the title game.

I didn't saying anything about this. I said a lot of people in this thread are really trying to rationalize Alabama's current stretch of dominance of college football as evidenced by 3 out of 4.

But since you ask, sure I can make that argument. It was a tightly contest game throughout. Hell, Alabama led by double digits at half time, led after 3, and of course led after 4. I don't really see that as LSU dominating for 90% of the game. Anyway, it really doesn't matter. You just have to win.

Not me. LSU deserved to win the first game. Alabama deserving to play in the BCS game had nothing to do with that game except to the extent is was just a small part of the overall season.
