I always believed Nick never truly wanted a nine game schedule; he just knew it was smart to act like he wanted it when he knew no one else did. He came off as the guy who only wanted to play quality competition and every body else was scared. Now that it’s a legit possibility, his tune has changed. Hmmm .

So those games to start the year against Wisconsin, Florida State, Clemson, Michigan, West Virginia, Miami, USCw, et al.

and against future opponents Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Florida State, Texas, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, et al. (and all home and home and all before 2030) are illusions?

"Auburn was rumored"... nothing like facts is there Stump? Auburn has not opened our mouths about who we play. Auburn has been playing tough SEC schedule for years.
Perhaps it is your coach that need to sit down, shut up.

It appears Saban said he’d have to bitch out of those games if he has to play 9 conference games:

quote:

"If we go to nine games, we'll have to unwind that," Saban said. "My deal has always been to play more SEC games because we couldn't get more people to schedule. So now I think there are more people who are willing to schedule. So having a balance is probably most important."

Oh no, you’re going to add in Vandy or UK that year, we can’t also play Wisky then. You’re fricking Alabama, act like it.

Thanks for proving my point. Bama buys a higher number of better players than everyone else. Don’t be afraid to play teams in the same Power 5 designation. Everyone knows even if Bama loses a game they have to lose more than anyone else before being left out.

No such thing in college football. If he wanted a level playing field, he would have stayed at his dream job in the NFL.

Exactly. Saban didn’t like it when all the teams were allotted the same amount of money to pay players. Quit and ran back to college where he could stack the deck.

Hopefully more people will now see that he's a hypocritical jackass who only cares about how rules effect him.

How can anyone think this is something new? He's a jackass who advocates for what works best for him and his team. Just go back to how he insisted on addressing the "player safety" issue associated with no-huddle offenses a decade ago. He would later incorporate the no-huddle offense approach into Bama's playbook.

The amazing thing about the Saban scheduling thing is how well manipulated it is.

By which I mean they rarely have two top tier opponents on consecutive weeks- and typically have an outright cupcake or bye week the week before a marquee game.

That's different from what other schools have been typically able to design. Most of them will have at least one two week stretch with two marquee games - increasing the difficulty and likelihood of losses.

Dude, you and all the SEC bottom feeders should kiss Nicks a** for not demanding more money than the A&Ms, USCe, Arky, Mizz, vandy, OM, KY, MSU who have printed off Bama’s success!

Don’t forget LSU Georgia Auburn and Florida.
Bama isn’t the only team that wins titles.

Under the leaked plan Alabama would be the only SEC school with three Big Six perm opponents

Can you imagine the absolute total nuclear meltdown here if LSU was the *only* program to be assigned all big-6 permanents? While Bama was assigned ole miss or vandy? We’d never hear the end of it.

But because Alabama is Alabama they’re just supposed to silently accept getting the shaft under this proposed format

Yeah, those years where every SEC team had an off week before they played Bama was definitely manipulated.

Well, it is not the Big Ten where just about every week Ohio State has a cupcake in or out of the conference.

You really think that Alabama has made other teams weaker before playing them?
