Was a game away in 2008, 2013 (Technically 2 with formality of SEC CG), and 2014 as well.

Really is pretty incredible.

I think the deck is stacked against beating UGA twice this year. But, if anyone can in spite of everything else, it is Saban.

Hell of a ride no matter what. Truly one of my favorite seasons in a long time simply because of the struggles and heart to win and fight back.

I’m fine with the evil empire winning one more this season if he just retires already afterwards.

He is one of the best but haven’t there been some old school basketball coaches that have won 6 titles or close to it. To me it’s MUCH harder in college basketball to win a title. Yes it’s easier to make playoffs but you have so many playoff games to win.

John Wooden won 10 NCAA tourneys in 12 years, including 7 in a row

Only Wooden or Belichick seems to compare

And to be perfectly honest, Wooden coached in an era when, relatively speaking, few schools gave a shite about college basketball. Only 8 schools in the Pac, for example. Only 24 teams in the NCAA tournament...the sport was somewhat popular, but certainly nowhere near the degree of popularity it achieved later.

So you can say with 100% absolute certainty that some other school wouldn't have hired him the following year had LSU not? There's no way he then could have won a national championship with that school and then gone to the Dolphins?

What if Florida had hired him instead of Zook going into 2002, he goes on to win a national championship at Florida, then goes to the Dolphins?

That couldn't have happened?

He is a good coach.

But most of that was Tom Brady.

No doubt Saban is the GOAT and incredible.

Wooden was amazing with 10 nattys and like posted earlier 7 in a row.
I know its NCAA womens bb, Geno Auriemma has 10 with 3 in a row twice but hes been coaching since 1985 and Summit had 8 with 3 in a row one time over a 30 year period.

Factor in his LSU stint this is Saban’s 10th national championship game. He currently has a record of 7-2. Hopefully will improve to 8-2 on Jan 10

As an LSU fan I dont know who to hate more Daunte Culpepper
or Wayne huizenga ? probably Huizenga for giving Saban an offer he couldnt refuse while he was at LSU.
