You better let Saban know He’s the one that threw Oats under the bus.

How so? And even if he did, Saban is objectively wrong. There are many examples of people being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I know someone who was killed driving beside an 18-wheeler when the driver of the semi had a heart attack, veered over into his lane, took his car into the median and then exploded. That is the very definition of “wrong place, wrong time.”

The statement itself doesn’t even come close to throwing shade at Oats as it doesn’t apply to the Miller situation in the slightest as Miller was actually in the right place at the wrong time. He was there to pick up his teammates from the club.

If I was Saban I would be so pissed at how Oats has handled everything too. Saban works hard to keep up discipline in his program and carefully chooses each word that comes out of his mouth. That dipshit Oats is another story.

Yup. Oats and the Bama PR team royally screwed this up from the start. I’m sure Saban was annoyed.

Even if he’s pissed at the situation no need to throw more fire onto it. Saban looking like the egotistical maniac he is. Can’t stand anyone else having success at his school and have nobody talking about football

If Nick has a problem with oats he should talk with the AD. Then let the AD handle it.
If it’s not about football it’s not his job .

I wonder how many phone calls rippled thru Bama’s athletic department folks last night after this quote came out. Do they beg Saban to come out and say specifically that he wasn’t referring to the Oats and Miller situation or do they let it lie so as to not fester up any more pub? One thing is for certain, Oats has to be pissed as hell.

Stay tuned for another episode of Real Coaches of the Alabama Crimson Tide…

Is Coach pissed that UA Basketball has taken the spotlight off of UA Football Spring practice?

There’s no way he couldn’t be irritated with the way the Administration boggled the PR handling of this situation and how they failed to prepare Oats when they had a month to work with him. But there are many other ways to get your point across and taking an obvious stab at your co-worker in the media is not the best way to do it.

That's what the media accomplished with zero facts and absolutely no legal evidence.

You’re ignoring the role of the prosecuting attorney, who fit the charges to what was expedient for himself. He’s the reason they were prosecuted. Not the media.

Extreme Ownership. You are responsible for you. End of story. Love it.

You shouldn't talk about that little orphaned boy's parents like that. The only person that shouldn't have had a gun that night was the felon in the back of the Jeep. If the Jeep doesn't pull up behind Miller's car in a threatening manner, the woman doesn't get shot. So who is culpable for the whole situation unraveling?

You honestly think that Nick Saban checks with Bama's SID before he makes a statement?

i am a gun guy, so i will not say who should have or should not have had a gun. more importantly, i do not know the details of this situation, so i cannot have an educated opinion. all i know is that more people should live by the Extreme Ownership teachings.

Most of the people involved. On all sides. The poster’s suggestion to read “Extreme Ownership” is a great suggestion.

Saban isn’t the overseer of the basketball program, so I just don’t think he considers it when discussing football program matters. Not every comment about one matter is related to another matter.

This is extrem naivete. Saban has been working the media for years, lobbying for playoff spots or trying to motivate his players. You think he now just developed foot in mouth disease?

You people are fricking hilarious. You and your whole fan base certainly thought he did last summer. He certainly was speaking the truth and delivered perfectly thought out and well timed remarks when going off on your program buying all its players, didn't he?

Nick Saban speaks the fricking truth, right? Go ahead and admit it. You bought all your players.

The person who shot the other person. This doesn’t make any sense. If no one does any shooting, no one can get shot.
