That’s not so outrageous.
Have to disagree on that one. Having more no-hitters than no walk games is a bit outrageous to me.

Is LSU going to face teams worse than 27-20 in the supers and Omaha?
Sportsbooks still have A&M with the 6th best odds to win the CWS, 7th best odds to make the CWS.

Nolan Ryan threw 346 complete games. In those games, he had more no hitters (7) than no walk games (4).

One of the worst sends I have ever seen.

Stanfield, Ethan Frey & Cowan are a few to watch.
Agree. We're seeing guys who may not project as pro players become really, really good college players at age 23 and sometimes 24.

Energy doesn't get unleashed in a recession. Prices drop, exploration is limited, and production is shut in.

So Stanfield will be back at LSU next year?
He's going to be 22 in July. If he's serious about wanting to give professional baseball a try, he will likely leave.

The players that choose to go to college are most likely doing it because they see it as a more enjoyable developmental path to the majors.
And another thing that is helping get kids to campus is a willingness by MLB to move guys up through the system very quickly. I think that it likely a result of level of play in the some of the power conferences, particularly the SEC and ACC. I think three of quickest ascents to the majors in terms of fewest minor league games played before getting the call has occurred in the last two years. Cam Smith and Nick Kurtz were picked a year ago and are all ready in the bigs. They’ll get through the arbitration years and to a potential huge payday in their mid 20s instead of 30.

Have you ever heard of a sophomore slump?
Yup, but not of a player of his talent. Those guys get better each year. It’s why he’ll be a high first round pick. He’ll be seen as a guy who can adjust quickly and progress through a minor league system relatively quickly.

He was never drafted. He took his name out of the draft the night before it started.
I know. Because he was viewed as a first rounder before his SR year and was expected to be picked around the third round after his Sr year.

Curiel is doing great, but I doubt he gets picked #2 in the first round when his time at LSU is done
I heard the reasons why he dropped out of the first round, but I think they missed the mark of him. He’ll be a first round pick next year. Maybe not #2 overall, but Top 10 isn’t out of the question.

Landry would never impose a mask mandate or shut down restaurants. Other than that, there's little to no difference between the two.

The 6’2” sophomore lefty from barbe, Littleton, hit 92 tonight and threw no hitter against central.
Picked a good time to do it. With Tennessee playing in Baton Rouge, someone from Tennessee was in town to check him out.

LSU is very unlikely to sweep A&M at A&M. Texas gets everyone at home and they have a 4-leaf clover up their butts this year I guess because they just don’t lose.
Just winning the series would be phenomenal.
Agree. As time goes by, I think what Texas is doing this year is going to be an anomaly. With this many extremely talented teams, I think SEC winning percentages is going to be MLB like, where winning over 60% of your games (18-19 games) is considered a great season.

Were officially drafted. The very first time that 4 OL from the same draft class were all drafted.
The real problem was one of those four (Dellinger) got injured and his replacement was not very good, and he played right next to the weakest link of the starting five. I don't think it's a coincidence that Nuss played his worst stretch of football after Dellinger was injured and Chester and Mubenga struggled. That and some of the play calling was predictable. Like calling a stretch run out of the pistol so many times the Florida LBs were making a stretching motion with their hands pre-snap.

We're 2nd in team ERA and 5th in batting average, in the best baseball conference in America.
Against SEC teams, we’re 6th in batting average, 0.004 away from being 8th. We were 2nd or 3rd going into the Auburn series. Last three weeks have been rough.

Found video of the Mouton ‘91 CWS HR. You see the ball strike a shed behind 420’ CF wall. 10:20 mark.

Not at the box, but thought I would share. Lyle Mouton hit one over the batter’s eye at the Old Rosenblatt against UF in 1991. At that time, the CF fence was 420’. I had heard that Mouton broke a window in the marriage dorms at the old box which would have been in the 480’ range. Didn’t see that one though.

I was at a state agency from 2022 -2024. I can tell you firsthand that the people at home did next to nothing. There were unbelievable back logs.
This may not be the case in the private sector because you are forced to be productive, but in the public sector, it's hard to get these turds to do a damn thing from home.
This is Louisiana. A good portion of the state employees do next to nothing in the office as well.
