Never have understood this . I do think Terry and the daughter didn't want to leave Baton Rouge at the time. Whereas Saban did a fine job at LSU, Sexton put his name out every year for the big jobs. Agent or not, he works for Nick and Saban could have just said "stop." In 10 yrs only when Texas popped up did something get going.

I honestly think Saban couldn't care less about LSU.

I think this just comes from--and over the years Finebaum has talked about it a few times, that Saban has said that he regretted leaving LSU to go to MIami.

I don't he's ever let it be known to anyone that he preferred LSU to Alabama. But in hindsight he regretted leaving LSU to go to MIami.

He's achieved a lot since.

I think he regretted leaving college football for the NFL. LSU just happened to have been his prior collegiate stop.

An "a Royale with Fizz." Or maybe just "Le Coke." It's been a while since I was there. But you won't believe what they put on french fries. Or maybe you will, being a TAMU fan and all.

I'm sure he loved the LSU fans after they burned him in effigy, then put it on a billboard.

I agree. Both are crappy places.

Who cares? Really, long as he keeps winning, i could not care less how much "Bama" he has him. Sure, it's preferable to have someone that has a particular appreciation for OUR school but at the end of the day... the more it's just business to him the better he seems to do. That's fine by me... for one.

I live in central Alabama. Have also lived in Baton rouge. both are crap. You're selling central Alabama based on lakes? There are lakes all over the country.

Didn't hear that. Would need to know context of comment, tone, etc.

That said, I'm sure there is a reason Saban has stayed at Bama for 10 years despite chances to leave, literally, every single season. There is a reason he put a dealership in Bham and has both kids working at it. There is a reason he brought his mom from WV to Bham. Those reasons aren't bc he doesn't like it in Tuscaloosa. Those reasons aren't bc he doesn't plan to stay and end his coaching career here.

It's not even that he regrets leaving LSU. He regrets that he ever left CFB.

I once went to El Paso. Very nice mountains and wide open spaces that give astonishing views.

I guess using you logic, all of Texas has Mountains and desert.

Unlikely and all the stupid speculation is getting out of hand. This is all Sexton doing his best to get another bump from the gumps.
