Some of that stuff is a big deal. But about half of those incidents are nothing burgers. I wouldn’t even consider them incidents

yeah seemed like 50% of these "incidents" were him yelling at referees during games or talking about bad calls in the media for the massive $100 fines. The horror.

The drug stuff seems a little sketchy for all the reasons already discussed.

The biggest thing that stuck out to me and what got the least attention in that article was the fact that he owes over 400k in back taxes, which has really nothing to do with him being the monster football coach the article portrays.

Recruiting players? meh, happens everywhere all over the country. And the article says he was cleared of wrongdoing there.

The guy isn't a poster child for Church, but the son of a gun is a great football coach. I don't think he would give steroids to players, because he knows that he would get caught.

People want to degrade the man, but he's a winner and he'll keep on winning no matter where he coaches

If Colquitt County is anything like Hoover then he didn't even have to recruit. We used to constantly get accused of recruiting when he was at Hoover, but in reality parents were making the decision to move their families to Hoover on their own bc its one of the best school systems in the state and the success of the program meant it was the best place in the state, and one of the best in Southeast for their son to get exposure for the next level.

He recruited, but a lot of schools in GA do. The people that get upset are just the ones who either lost a player or the game and are being oblivious to their own programs issue s

National scene?

C'mon Bowl, it's high school. It's a big deal to some folks in that county.

Believe it or not there is a national HS football scene. But its not like the topic du jour on national news. But there are actually people who follow it. Mostly people in the industry or parents with player kids.

Ah, I see. Like the people who make national rankings for HS.

I took it as interest on a national level. My bad

That guy is truly an idiot. Getting way overpaid as a high school coach and just continues to F it all up. LOL @ making near $150k to coach high school kids and not being able to handle yourself like showing up to work.

My HS was on ESPN a few times. Herbstreit tried to start a series with HS football Ohio vs USA, but it failed. My school is one of the bigger sports/football schools, but not top in state(OH) but got on there because Herby went there

Nice.

We spent some time not too far away in the Hamilton/Mason area and then moved around to Madeira/Indian Hills.

We loved it but Mrs Cane was ready to get back close to family, so now we just visit every year or two.

If you can't convince members of a SEC forum that HS has a national scene, good luck with the rest of the country.

I'm a HS and college football fan. Have been for a long time. There is no "national HS football scene" to speak of.

The guy is pulling $150K/yr, and allegedly owe's $443K in back taxes? He's the highest paid school teacher in the entire state and didn't pay his taxes?

Sorry man. Long day for me. I generally respect your opinion even though we differ on teams. You seem very intelligent and have a way with words. Sorry if I offended you.

Let’s take the drug issues out because that is a serious and criminal allegation. If he received all these letters reprimanding him by the principal, in South Carolina, there would be enough cause to fire him. Don’t know how things work in Georgia but here contracts are year to year and it’s pretty easy to fire someone for insubordination. If.you have reprimanded them before
