need to make them forfeits from now on. Get your protocols together or take an L.
Maybe if there is no available date for a reschedule. It doesn't seem fair to take away a game from the team that doesn't have the covid issues. I think that there should be suspensions for the players that are proven to be out doing stupid shite. Maybe if that had been written in before the season we wouldn't have seen so many issues after Halloween.

I mentioned this in a thread a few days ago but exactly who is the accountability in verifying these contact trace protocol individuals are legitimate? I think the answer is no one, and you can tell the SEC whatever you want
As I responded in your thread, the league should have access to the data as all 14 schools are using the same KINEXON SafeZone technology.
Per this article, they will be doing the same for basketball:

quote:
“KINEXON continues to provide the SEC with a modern and effective solution to meet the unique contact tracing challenges associated with athletic competition in close contact sports,” said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey.
SafeZone uses ultra-wideband technology to accurately calculate the proximity between individuals by distance and length of time in order to perform quick and accurate contact tracing when someone is symptomatic or tests positive for COVID-19.
"Our trusted digital approach to contact tracing will be a contributing factor which allows the conference's men's and women's basketball season to be played safely," said Kinexon Executive Vice President Jim Garofalo.
Can it be gamed? Sure. Maybe Leach and Coach O rigged it so that the bracelets would generate the results they wanted so they could use the COVID excuse.
Nobody trusts anything anymore. Election results. Contract tracing. Everything is fake news. Believe no one and nothing. Along those lines, I will be declaring my team the winner of everything from here on out. You can't prove me wrong.

The teams punking out are the ones having crap seasons who don’t want to play anyway.
A&M is a top 5 team. Did Jimbo rig it so he didn't have to play this weekend?

Was Florida still undefeated when they postponed vs LSU? I can't remember if they lost before or after that. The idea that only shitty teams are the reason for postponing is just dumb.

“They” being the school? Ok. This doesn’t change anything I said unless this data goes straight to the Birmingham office
It doesn't matter if they track the players.
In order to be "high risk", the infected person has to be within 6 feet of the player, for 15 minutes, without wearing a mask. And the person hasn't been infected(some loose language around 3 months, but that makes no sense)
It would be impossible to know if they were wearing a mask.

Florida was coming off a loss to Texas A&M when that game was postponed.

Agreed. Though probably safe to assume most players don't mask up unless they have to in order to enter a business that requires it.

State has had 3 more players opt out this week. I imagine they'll be done for the year.

I'm tired of uga games getting postponed bc of other schools not having their shite together
With the way covid cases in GA are looking it will be UGA's turn soon enough.

Depends on test results today. Which like most every other school they have far less than transparent about.
ETA: I see Pittman already discussed today's test results. No new test results until Friday. No clue how many Hogs are snared by contact tracing protocol.

A team can still choose to play if they don't have the 53 players. State will lose anyway, at this point it's about the TV money. The more games that get postponed, the less money SEC teams get from the TV contracts.
Play the damn game.
I've kind of been wondering how all the TV money works. Is that actually true? Are schools paid based on a certain amount per game or just a flat amount for the TV rights on a yearly basis? Was wondering about the TV money when the pandemic started and what the language of their contract entails. One would think there would be clauses in the contracts to address the cancellation of games, but I haven't seen any articles addressing this. Obviously, this season is unprecedented, but games in all sports have been cancelled for weather all the time each year. How would they be able to determine what one game was "worth"? Like when a school has had football games cancelled due to hurricanes or a baseball game gets cancelled for rain and can't be rescheduled or any other event. I just don't know how they would be able to quantify an amount to subtract from the schools' compensations for cancelled games unless it was specifically referenced in the contract with the league.
