Supposedly due to contact tracing Mississippi State might not be above the threshold of 53 scholarship players ready to play this Saturday.

Agreed. These should be forfeits.

A team can still choose to play if they don't have the 53 players. State will lose anyway, at this point it's about the TV money. The more games that get postponed, the less money SEC teams get from the TV contracts.

Play the damn game.

Kudos to MSU for accurately reporting their numbers. Truth telling is paramount in Biden's America.

Not going to happen. The SEC would take a hit if they force forfeits due to a pandemic. They fricked by how they scheduled the season.

I mentioned this in a thread a few days ago but exactly who is the accountability in verifying these contact trace protocol individuals are legitimate? I think the answer is no one, and you can tell the SEC whatever you want

“They” being the school? Ok. This doesn’t change anything I said unless this data goes straight to the Birmingham office

53 is such an arbitrary number. Two deep is 44 players. Make it 45 with a kicker. Play the games cowards.

The teams punking out are the ones having crap seasons who don’t want to play anyway. Looking at you, LSU.

Forfeiture needed to be part of the original plan. It was the only way to endure teams who were no longer viable for playoffs would adhere to protocols.

Yep, need to make them forfeits from now on. Get your protocols together or take an L.

Me too. There’s been like 1980 games cancelled or postponed so far this season. Just let the teams that want to play play.

One loss A&M postponed last week and this week's game even though they had less positive tests than LSU who only postponed one game

So what happens should Alabama be missing 40 players or so and numerous positions groups?
