he saw what they did to his mentor is Gus Mahlzan
AU gave Gus years to change his ways, they let him hire/fire nearly half a dozen OC's & QB coaches and paid him a huge buyout to leave.

and how they lied and conspired on Hairston
Harskin brought a lot of that shite on himself, he refused to do the social scene with the biggest boosters (Bo Jackson) or the money men (Rane), he snubbed his nose at NIL and he refused to freaking recruit. WTH? They gave him freedom to hire/fire his staff and he literally ran off a legacy QB (Bo Nix) from his lifetime school - they also paid him +$15mm to leave.

the off the field land mines the Auburn boosters & weak a$$ administration has built in the lat decade.
What landmines? Auburn gave Freeze a new football facility, an open wallet for NIL, and they've allowed him to hire/fire staff as he sees fit.

Hell, Auburn's Administration has backed Freeze from day one and the goober still can't get shite straight with all that expensive talent. Freeze is in over his head, he has to go, but Eli ain't the guy for Auburn - he'd never fit in.

Auburn currently has a HC that never played football. I don't think they will make that mistake again with Drinkwitz.

Mizzou has been very good the last few years.

Maybe in 2023.

The rest of the time, they've just been feasting on weak schedules.

It will take more than that. For all of Mizzou's NIL chest beating, they're still bottom end of the SEC in talent.

I'd be shocked if that's true.

Usually their coaches are Northeast guys and usually have a Pennsylvania connection.

The only time Drinkwitz has worked outside of the South was at Boise State.

about to be at a minimum a four way bidding war (auburn, penn state, florida, and oklahoma) for football's hottest coach!

I don't doubt people are talking about it, he just doesn't fit the profile of what they usually hire.

Rhule, Cignetti, and Elko all seem more likely.

We've only seen them hire 2 coaches. Drink fits their profile:

Run and defense game plans
NiL and Portal success
High Character won't cause controversy
Good recruiter
Has success replacing coordinators, which was a knock on Franklin
Brings Pribula back home

Does he suck?

If he truly sucks, we will likely at least give him an interview.

Then we will hire Curly Hallman or Joe Kines.

I’d take Muschamp or Coach O right now.

At least I know they could kick my arse and not cry at halftime interview.

I agree the right hire could put them right back in it. But they are squandering any advantages they may have with a boneheaded administration.

Drink isn't going anywhere, unless he is crazy. He can stay at Mizzou, not worry about his job after 1 bad season, owns the State of MO. has 2 big metro areas/media markets to recruit, has BIG campus & booster support, great facilities, has built this program himself from the ground up & gets to coach in the SEC. He has the program close. Mizzou has been very good the last few years. With a few big hits in the portal & recruiting, he can take the next step. Why take over programs like FL, AU & AR that need to be rebuilt? Is there upside, sure, but what happens if he is not able to rebuild fast enough. He gets fired, that's what!

That’s cute and all but the ceiling Missoura is much lower than that of UF and Auburn.

Both programs expect nattys. Missoura just expects to be relevant

That was true in the past when there was no NIL and the new transfer rule change. This is why Drinkwitz isn't going anywhere.

lol it’s cute you believe that but missoura is a tier 3 school. Y’all can’t spend like the big boys.
