Bediako was ruled ineligible. The conference 100% could have vacated any wins Bama got with him playing conference opponents, which is why it was very stupid to play him. Fortunately for everyone, Florida kicked their arse and left no doubts
Also, this SEC rule that specifically mentions NFL and NBA players was passed AFTER Bediako. this rule was NOT in place at that time. Only the NCAA rule.

Bediako was a distraction. Those two weeks were the worst stretch of the season. Alabama went 3-2.
But all this drama in Baton Rouge will not be a distraction at all. No, it will make the players and coaches more focused. Signed, LSU fans.

Honest question,
How was the bediako situation different? He was a professional player playing in an NBA league and played in games for Alabama.
There were rules in place prior to this year preventing professional athletes from coming back to play in college, no?

That's not true. The SEC has a big thick compliance book and a whole bunch of those rules pertain to having to have NCAA eligibility to have SEC eligibility. Those rules are in the books. Trinidad does not have NCAA eligibility as they refused his attempt on two occasions before he got a TRO just like everyone else that is suing.
According to SEC rules, Trinidad is not eligible for the SEC since he's not eligible for the NCAA. The only reason he is playing is because of the TRO.

Sherman Anti Trust claim incoming!! If this is true, Simone is giving the SEC horrible advice. The SEC can govern their members per the membership agreement, but not to the extent that it colludes to arbitrarily prevent employment. It’s either 5/5 for all with no exceptions and no professional experience ….or it’s not.

People are finialy figuring out why LK is doing what he is.Blowing up the current system and forcing some legitimate changing this insanity.The NCAA and the conferences have totally dropped the ball and let this fester since NIL,PORTAL rulings came about.No one was pro active with all this so called brain power called commissioners ,college presidents have failed big time.The sad part is LK and LSU is the whipping boy for all of this incompetence.

I don't care what college you attend. You aren't getting paid unless you're an athlete. City CC or Yale, their acceptance requirements have nothing to do with you getting paid. College football player on the other hand is a different story.
HOA, they aren't paying you no matter how legal they are.....and so on.

College athletes are still student athletes. They have to be admitted and enrolled at a school before they can play. So yes, acceptance requirements do have a little something to do with being paid.

Would be kind of funny if some judge issued an injunction to temporarily halt the SEC from playing until it’s all settled
