Alabama has to drop some stupid game on the road because Saban rarely goes undefeated. I picked Oklahoma. Seems fitting because we managed to lose to A&M in their first year in conference. Difficulty of schedule keeps UGA out of Atlanta. Ease of schedule gets Texas to Atlanta and ensures LSU and Ole Miss playoff spots.

Tennessee Oklahoma Missouri and Auburn are all left to argue that they are the 6th best SEC team and they deserve the final spot in the college football playoff.

Texas 12-0 (8-0)
Alabama 11-1 (7-1)
LSU 11-1 (7-1)
Georgia 10-2 (6-2)
Ole Miss 10-2 (6-2)
Tennessee 9-3 (5-3)
Oklahoma 9-3 (5-3)
Auburn 9-3 (5-3)
Missouri 9-3 (5-3)
Texas A&M 6-6 (3-5)
Arkansas 6-6 (2-6)
Kentucky 6-6 (2-6)
South Carolina 5-7 (2-6)
Mississippi State 4-8 (0-8)
Florida 3-9 (1-7)
Vanderbilt 3-9 (0-8)

SEC Championship: Alabama Vs Texas
Texas finally takes a loss and will have to wait for their first SEC Championship. This costs them a first round bye in the playoffs and they are given the gift of playing a G5 team. Alabama gets the 1 seed with a ton of quality wins.

Playoff Seeding
1 Alabama
2 B1G Champion
3 ACC Champion
4 B12 Champion
5 Texas
6 LSU
7 B1G #2
8 Georgia
9 B1G #3
10 Ole Miss
11 B1G #4
12 G5 AQ

No one can emerge from the cluster of 9-3 SEC teams to claim they are definitively better than B1G #4 who probably lost to the only two teams they played with a pulse and dominated the rest of their schedule. The 4 B1G playoff teams should come from the following pool of teams (Michigan, Ohio State, Washington, Oregon, Penn State, and USC). Utah should be the B12 favorite and the ACC winner should either be FSU or Clemson. WGAF who the G5 team is except for you Tulane grads on the board because it might be Tulane.

Round 1:
Texas Vs G5 AQ
LSU Vs B1G #4
Ole Miss At B1G #2
Georgia Vs B1G #3

Texas and LSU manage easy wins. Georgia has to work slightly harder but doesn't have much of a problem. Ole Miss is completely outclassed. Kiffin probably does something stupid at some point during the game or probably said something stupid in the lead up to the game.

Quarterfinals
Georgia Vs Alabama
Texas Vs B12 Champion
LSU Vs ACC Champion (FSU or Clemson)
B1G Champion vs B1G #2

Georgia gets revenge benefitting from the old adage about how it's hard to beat a good team twice as does the B1G #2., Texas gets a cake walk and Brian Kelly manages to do what Brian Kelly does best in the postseason.

Semifinals
Georgia Vs Texas
B1G #2 (OSU Michigan Oregon Washington PSU) vs ACC Champion (Clemson or FSU)

Revenge factor benefits Georgia again. B1G team wins a defensive slugfest against the ACC champion.

Championship
Georgia Vs B1G #2

Georgia beats the B1G #2. If this is Ohio State or Michigan it's probably a great game. If it's Penn State or one of the west coast transplants it's probably a snoozer by late in the third quarter. Georgia becomes the first 2 loss champion in 17 years.

Tennessee, Oklahoma, Auburn, and Missouri spend all of the lead up to bowl seasons crying about how they deserved the final at large spot and they could have made a championship run. Two of the crap the bed in a bowl game and disappear from the rant for few weeks (Probably Oklahoma and Auburn) while the other 2 continue to play what if for the entire offseason.

Love the detail and I'll take an 11-1 regular season. I have us going 10-2.

Think you may be a bit optimistic on the OOC record. Going 59-5 is a massive stretch if you ask me. Especially when you give Florida 2 of those losses.

SEC lost 12 OOC games in 2023 and that is with 14 teams.

You realize Oklahoma has no returning starters on their Oline.

New QB.

New OC.

You got a lot of faith with a completely new team with a terrible schedule lol

It's ambitious but I'm never picking a G5 or FCS team to beat an SEC even though it tends to happen once or twice a year especially with Vandy involved.

Biggest risks to drop one I see from the wins I've picked:

LSU against USC and UCLA. Definitely could be a split instead of a sweep.

Arkansas - Oklahoma State is a tough one but I expect Arkansas to better with Petrino as OC and OK State was basically a stud RB and a bunch of bums this year.

Georgia Clemson could be a loss.

Oklahoma has a charmin soft P5 game against Houston. Tulane is probably their toughest OOC game.

Ole Miss has a joke game against Wake.

Wisconsin still has a long way to go on offense to threaten Alabama.

Auburn gets Cal at home and I'd expect Auburn to improve more than Cal.

ASU was much worse than MSU this year and this years MSU team was able to get by a much better P12 team but a loss wouldn't shock me.

Texas going to Michigan is definitely a tough game but I just think it's not a great match up for Michigan.

Missouri has an easy one with BC.

Kentucky Louisville could go the other way but I don't see Louisville getting any better than they were this year.

I could see it, but have us losing to a team we should beat and beating a team we should lose to.

Like losing to Florida again or Arkansas, beating Oklahoma or something.

New QB is supposed to be the truth and I would expect them to continue to improve on defense. Year 1 to 2 under Venables they went from 55th to 24th in DF+. As shitty as some of his old OU defenses were his defenses at Clemson were always really good.

I originally was going to take UT to beat Oklahoma but I ultimately went the other way. There was too much of an unrealistic log jam at 10-2.

Let’s see how that works out for you. That same defense lost to Kansas and Okst. And almost lost to BYU and UCF at home.

No matter how good the QB is won’t matter when they can’t block any one.

Yeah, I'm kind of leaning 8-4 with 9-3 or even 10-2 as certainly possible. We should have one of the better OLs in CFB next year with the amount of starters returning, and there is a lot of QB turnover in the SEC. If we don't get better play in the secondary it won't matter though.

New Mexico State won in Jordan Hare so I'm not sure why this is so hard to comprehend.
