Hunker down, Bayou Bengals, maybe you too Aggie. Barry may not be a big storm, but looks like it will be nasty from a flooding standpoint. This Michael survivor is sending a little prayer ya'll's way for your safety.

Thanks fam.

Home will be fine. Have to evacuate because I’d get flooded in if I don’t, and when it floods, gators come near the house. I have dogs, so I have to move them to someplace safe.

Should be interesting staying with my parents for the first time in 15 years.

Thanks, OP. I work at a BR hospital, this storm has me tense. Hopefully everything stays calm through today

Big tropical storm preparing to become Hurricane Barry; right off the coast and dumping water here. New Orleans and south already flooding at places. Models vary, but most put it hitting around Lafayette or so.

This coupled with the extremely high Mississippi River levels has people spooked. BR area suffered major flooding only a couple years ago, this could be similar if things go wrong.
*/river being high means drainage will be shite.

Yes- prayers to all, hopefully it won’t get so bad! I recently had a run in with flooding and the aftermath, it’s a mean bitch.

The major flooding in the Midwest over the past few months has the Mississippi on the brink of the levees and a big slow tropical storm is on the way. It dropped 8” of rain in an hour yesterday and a lot of New Orleans flooded.

So now the rivers gonna come over the levee in the New Orleans area tommorow night and the lakes. Damn near full too.

Serious flooding is possible in New Orleans and imminent in Plaquemines parish. People are likely gonna lose homes.

My home is 2 blocks for the lake. That levee don’t have much more room to go.

Let's just all hope this tropical mischief turns out to be a bunch of wishcasting by the meteorologists.
