Awe man. I knew he’d been battling cancer. I thought he was on the upswing and I thought he was performing again.

Liked his music, respected how he put so much effort into the USO.

RIP big man.

Hate that he didn't get to see his Sooners play in the SEC. He was a big fan. I was a valet in Kansas City during grad school. He was at the hotel I worked at. Was there for the Big 12 tournament. Down to earth guy. Seemed to be in a good place in this news story.

Don't let the old man in....

Can’t believe we lost our dear personal friend, Toby Keith. Filled with deep sadness but flooded with wonderful memories too. He was as authentic as they come & did more for people than anyone will ever know. Please pray for his entire family. Rest high on that mountain Big T.

Absolutely crushed. To my 5th grade football coach and the man who taught me how to swim in the deep end. His impact transcends way beyond what he ever did in music. RIP

He was but those brutal rounds of chemo and radiation therapies took a toll on his body.

He and his wife were playing behind me at East Lake 7 years ago and I am sure he got tired of me singing red solo cup.

Got to chat for a few min, he and his wife were really nice.

Kanai™?
@calebkkelly
I always reminded Toby of the time I met him after we won the BIG12 in Norman, 2016. In the locker room he grabs me by the shoulders and screams, “that’s how you play some mfn football Caleb Kelly!” My response, “Holy Shii you’re Toby Keith!” RIP Cowboy, I’ll miss you!

Toby Keith was an amazing ambassador for this state and its people. Most probably don’t know this, especially on the orange side of Oklahoma, but he put on a women’s collegiate golf tournament every year and he was always a gracious host. What a fantastic person.

An Oklahoma icon in every way. Had a big footprint in the golf space with Belmar, too. Cancer sucks. Every year, Keith's foundation hosted a golf tournament that usually raised more than $1 million for local charities. Also, Belmar hosts the Schooner Fall Classic every fall, and the trophy is one of the best in college golf.
